Is NCC going to win them a State Title ???

Featured Replies

No but an even score against a common opponent should show that Somerset is more than capable of playing with Newcath. Maybe y'all played your worst game (although you usually save that for Beechwood) and maybe we played our best but it should show that Somerset can play with the Breds. I hope the team and the whole town is expecting this to be easy.

Congradulations on a great season Somerset, because it's all about to end tommorrow night, expect the hungry NCC Thoroughbreds to really turn it loose, and win big 42-13, and then take it to PJS next week. (Good Luck Both Teams!!!)

Yeah a common opponent but that was the first game of the year for ncc, and you keep acting like Ncc players think this is a cake walk, im sure they arent overlooking anyone. Good luck to "y'all"

Is it true that Somersets Offense of line is really that small? Man they must be quick and have a lot of heart if it is so.

In all reality you don't have to be a giant to play this game. I've seen alot of small linemen put a larger opponent on the ground. I personally think that if a athelete knows his/her techniques and know how to use them, then they would have the upper hand. If I remember correctly Newport back in the early 80's had two guards that were about 5' 6" and wieght less than 150 pounds. Those two guys would just pound you and pound you again. Remeber, the small guys play with a lot of heart too.

Beechwood and NCC have won 93% of the Semi State games in the last 14 years. That's owing the game played Friday night...

Beechwood winning 90% of the semi games the last 14 years has nothing to do with NCC...NCC is much better than Somerset this year, but Beechwood's semi record won't put any points on the board for NCC...

Check how close NCC was to Beechwood in Regional Final's, and then what Beechwood did to Region 4. The Region 3 Runner Up was almost always rated higher than #1 in Region 4. NCC was usually said #2...

NCC's high rankings have got them no titles. Beechwood knows how to win the big game, which intimidates teams. NCC is far less intimidating, and generally doesn't play their best in big games. Region 4 has 100% better chance vs. NCC every year until this year...NCC will blast Somerset, and then we will see if they are truly over the hump...

OK, but I'm just a little confused as to how NKY has owned 1A when you have non-NKY teams like Danville and Mayfield in 1A. Seems more ignorant than arrogant to me.

I'm not a fan of NCC or Bwood, just a casual observer but they have owned their side of the bracket for the past decade and a half. Now Danville, Mayfield and Murray have taken and beaten their NKY opponents but overall the NKY district has represented the eastern part of the state well.

Just to remind you that Somerset has only been in the "mountains" for 3 years. Somerset was in the west side before that. The last time Somerset played NCC they won. It was a long time ago but they haven't played since then and that was in the semi-finals of the state.

Actually Somerset beat NCC in the 83 semifinals by one point at Newport. The next year NCC turned the tables on Somerset and beat them at Somerset 17-0. I don't think either one of those games will have any bearing tonight. Good luck to Somerset! I hope the players on both teams and both sets of fans have a safe game.

Legaer28,

Did Somerset do something to wrong you in this or a previous life? If your predictions for their games were true the Jumpers would have finished 0-10 this year with a running clock in every game. I know the last 2 weeks you picked Somerset to get hammered--but it didn't happen. That said it would be an upset if Somerset beats NCC but not that big of one. I'll say NCC 35 SHS 21--and I hope I'm wrong.

Your using Beechwoods success to piggy back NCC

GT are you going to do any filming at the state championship games like you did in the past? That was fun being on your show 02 but a little cold
