Sure, there is plenty of talent in Bird land but I can't seem to remember a notable team without one or two players (at key spots I might add) from outside the "normal fort thomas area". Can you name "one or two" KEY players in the last four years. There have been a few players , one or two, but can you honestly say they were KEY?

 

I'll give you "maybe" 2004. Maybe two that year, but two players do not make a team and I'm positive there were more KEY players from the Fort that year than not.

Well, I wonder how many teams there are that have every single player being "homegrown," as you say. Someone mentioned the 2007 HHS team being totally homegrown. Well, that team had a D-lineman, Milton Peko, who moved in from California at some point. I believe he and his family moved to the area from California after his uncle or cousin (can't remember which) Domato Peko got drafted by the Bengals. Are you going to hold that against HHS in the argument about HHS needing outside players to win?

 

I'd be interested in knowing whether there are many/any KY teams in the larger football classes who can say that every player on the roster is "homegrown." I'm no sociologist but I believe Americans do move around a fair amount.

The Peko's lived in Taylor Mill in Kenton County but they I think they moved to Boone County this year.

I was wondering when this thread was going to get back on track!

Be a factor in 6A and compete with and maybe beat Highlands. In other words, do what Ryle has done recently.

 

Lickert won't do better than 7-3, and that's after he is able to manipulate the schedule to fit in a few cupcakes as he did at Holmes. The guy really is overhyped as a coach. Look at his overall record at Holmes and Dayton, and then look at his record (and scores of the games) against quality opponents (teams that are usually 6-4 or better)

Finally someone else who thinks he isn't all that.
