If you were speaking on behalf of their fan base, I would contemplate making a quick move out of Dodge (ironic the same word the mighty pioneers did with the Birds on their schedule).:laugh:

Doesn't really matter because Highlands can win with home grown Ft Thomas boys. The argument from the HATERS will never hold water till there beloved school knocks off the birds. But first the HATERS need to schedule Highlands. Highlands doesn't need kids from other cities to help them win because they have been winning with home grown talent for years......

The Bruns boys lived in Campbell County when they started primary school...they were transfers into the Kenton County School system.

 

As for the thread topic, I hope Coach Lickert is very successful at CCHS. Hopefully every school is already looking in the mirror trying to improve themselves without waiting to see what happens at CCHS.

The facts are the facts if Coach L gets involed with the new youth program they started out in the county a couple of years ago that is run like the FTJRFL, then GURU, everyone in KY and most importantly NKYFL will need to look at there programs. Many of the players at NCC came through the FTJRFL and of course the HHS teams every year(both state champs this year) If Steven can get the rest of the county people on the band wagon of youth football then i wouldnt see why he can't be a huge hit for the Camels.

 

Agreed Big Boy!!!! The first order of business would be to dismantle the Red Devils program completely from top to bottom since its not working. Does absoulutely NOTHING for the betterment of the program as a whole.

 

Keep building on a feeder program that includes ALL kids that want to play football and not just the families that can afford it and the superstar athletes. Not bashing the Red Devils because they do a great job promoting themselves but unfortunately the latter yrs that really count have been (lets just say) not so kind to the Camels.

 

New Sheriff in town Camels, be patient and let him do his thing and before you know it CC will be a feared opponent like they were in the late 70's and early 80's. Just sayn.

Think about it, NCC and Highlands are as good as it gets in their class. And if Campbell becomes a contender what excuse will the rest of the public schools in KY have? You won't be able to say the evil private school is taking all the good players, you won't be able to say Highlands is "recruiting" all the good players.

 

Maybe you could say high school athletes in the entire county are superior to the other 119 counties, maybe you could say the coaching is better, maybe you could say the administrative support is better.

 

The point I am making is if Coach Lickert is real successful at Campbell there are a lot of public schools that won't be able to avoid looking in the mirror.

I completely agree and believe that administration, leadership, and other roles have been the big problems taking place within many schools in relation to sports and everything else. It's been easier to blame the privates, Highlands, etc. for many, but those programs were instilled with what was necessary and that has carried over and over, which is what has them above many others.

Self-reflection and honesty is critically important, even if it's painful at times.

I'm merely curious, but when has Highlands won with strictly homegrown boys in the last 10 years? Sure, there is plenty of talent in Bird land but I can't seem to remember a notable team without one or two players (at key spots I might add) from outside the "normal fort thomas area". You can call it what you want, but facts are facts.
