How did it look when Highlands lost to Ryle last year? I'm pretty sure Withrow is as big or bigger than Ryle, enrollment-wise.

I can kind of see what you're saying...because I know I wouldn't have ever wanted to coach against Lynn Ray, but I don't see that as any kind of reasoning behind his move out of Holmes. Besides, it's not like he's moving into an "easy" district: 6A District 6 - Boone County, Campbell County, Dixie Heights, Ryle

CPS still has the highest graduation rate of any urban district in the state of Ohio!!!!

I believe that Lickert would love to schedule Highlands..........because that would mean he thinks they are ready to compete at that level ! I don't believe he has any expectation of that happening for several years but I do believe he thinks he can get a program like CampCo. to that level. Like others have noted, he may come knockin in 3-4 years IF he makes good progress in that time.

Withrow is a dangerous game for HHS and I wouldn't schedule them either if I was Dale. I would stick to the big boys.

Well with a Bird in charge of the Bulldogs he dropped the Birds the 1st chance he had then when the state forced him to play the Birds again he went looking for a new job. So I would say NO way, and he will never be criticized like Marksberry at SK has for not scheduling them.

You say this like it is some big indictment on the Camels. How many teams do beat HHS more than once a decade? I'm pretty sure the Camels beat them twice in the early 90's before Mueller really took the HHS program to the next level and the series was dropped. I hope he schedules them and the sooner the better. I don't think you get any better playing Norwod for example if you are the Camels. If they ever want to be state champions then it will be a must to beat teams that are the same caliber of the birds. How are you going to get there if you are afraid to play them like Simon Kenton for example?

It is obvious that some of you don't know Coach Lickert or what makes him tick. Coach Lickert bases his decisions on what's best for his team and the growth of his programs. He sets the highest standards for himself, his staff and his players. He is committed to doing what it takes to move his programs to the next level. He encourages his players to believe in themselves and be the best they can be, on and off the field. He works to instill a winning attitude. It will always be his goal to outwork the competition and to compete with the best teams in the state, Highlands being one of them. Lucky for him, no one has exclusive rights to success.

When it comes to scheduling Highlands I think Coach Lickert needs to follow the Coach Warner recipe. Slowing build your program and when you think you are ready for the challenge step to the plate. And I think it is even more important for Campbell to get HHS on the schedule when they are ready because it will be a great selling point for Campbell if they are able to compete with and beat the Birds.

What about NCC and HHS getting together and playing. That seems like the game everyone would like to see. They would fill it up no matter where they played.
