Set to premier Wed. Feb 16 (I hate that it's now on Wednesday by the way).

 

18 castaways with the Redemption Island twist.

 

2 returning castaways Boston Rob and Russell.

 

Thoughts?

 

I like the Redemption Island idea but Rob and Russell both need to move on from Survivor.

Seriously, do we really need Russell and Rob? This will be Rob's 4th attempt and Russell's 3rd, I agree move on.

AGREED! Rob and Russell need to go away. Also miss the Thursday night thing! For many years--it was Survivor, followed by ER. Good Times!

You all say move on...I say heck yeah!

 

Rob is my favorite Survivor from all of the seaons and Russell is certainly entertaining as well.

 

Definitely looking forward to this season.

Rob and Russell will add to the entertainment for strategy reasons. But, I agree, they had their shot. They are now taking two spots away from new contestants.

The ratings must have been really down last season if they are bringing back R & R. Sounds like a ratings move to save the franchise.

I agree! Russell is my all time favorite. Looking forward to the up coming season.

Russell is definitely entertaining but I think he is overrated as far as a player goes. During Heroes vs. Villians he wasn't even the best player in his alliance (Parvati worked him in my mind).

 

Having said that, I like Survivor better when he is on it. I'm fairly indifferent to Boston Rob.

Can Russell win?

 

I don't think so. He was totally unknown his first game so his "loyality" wasn't known by the other players. Heroes vs. Villains was filmed before that series aired so again he was a bit of an unknown. Now these contestants know him. They know he has money and they know he will stab them in the back in a second. I can see him on Redemption Island fairly early and then winning duels to get back in the game. Either way it has been proven that you can lie and back stab your way to the finals but you can't win once you're there. Unless he takes someone even more disagreeable then him with him (and I don't know that is even possible) then I see him being a bridesmaid yet again. Ask Sash how being a master manipulator worked out for him.

I dont like the idea of Russell and Rob being back. That being said I do like Russell as a player in the game. I agree with VoR that the rating must have been down for them to bring these 2 guys back. Here's to hoping the castaways get rid of them the frist 2 votes.
