Well, let's get it started.

Dogs will travel to Park Hills Tuesday night in a big showdown with the Colonels that will likely decide who gets the #1 seed in the district.

Holmes will come in 9-4 after a 63-54 win over Holy Cross.

Covcath will come in 11-2 after a 79-55 win over Beechwood.

I expect this to be an extremely close game. I'll take Holmes by 2.

Holmes struggled with Giesler down low. CovCath also has some quality size. If CovCath guards can handle the pressure CovCath can pull out the win.

Going with CovCath 62-56

I think CovCath will win this game, but I believe both will make the region tourney and could play each other in the finals.

Other contenders are Dixie and maybe NCC.

Walter, did you happen to forget the Ryle game that Holmes won over Ryle 63-54, while CovCath beat Ryle 81-72? Looks like both beat a common opponent by the same amount of points. Link

CCH defense will be the difference in this game. If Holmes is allowed to run they have a great shot but I think CCH comes out on top.

If the Colonels play up to their capabilities, they can win this game. Should be a good one. I am sure the crazies will be out in force and the place will be rocking.

This game comes down to one thing and one thing only. If the Colonels can get over half court and run their offense, they will win. If they can't handle the pressure they won't. Ball fake, ball fake, ball fake. Size over speed if you can handle the ball.

I agree 100%.

If this becomes a half court game and the Covcath guards can handle Holmes' pressure, I think the Colonels win by around 10.

If Holmes is allowed to get out and run and this becomes a transition game, Covcath will get worn down as the game progresses and Holmes wins by 5-10.

Either way, I see this game being within 10 points. Should be a good one but I'm going to go with the following:

Holmes- 64

Covcath- 59

I think the Dogs will attack the rim and get Covcath in foul trouble which will take away their size advantage.

I have not seen Holmes this year. With the new coach do they press and run unlike the past few years?

Covcath should win 60-50. I believe their size will be the big difference in the game. Thelen should have a big night.

Yes, they press and run. They essentially start 5 guards.

Nice catch TOG :thumb:

I really like this CovCath team and said that before the season started. These two teams will come out of the 35th district and be in the running for the regional championship. With that said, I like Holmes ability to pressure CovCath and get turnovers resulting in transition baskets. CovCath has the bigs down low to cause Holmes some problems. Foul shooting will be critical in this game. I like Holmes to get their 2nd district win.

Holmes 62

CovCath 58

CovCath 66 Holmes 63. Should be a very close game.
