I like Cov Cath at home, but besides the handling of Holmes pressure D, the Colonels have to hit their free throws. If they can slow it down and get the ball inside and get the Bulldogs in foul trouble they win by 10 plus, if they do not hit their free throws its a 2-3 point win

Does the extra day help or hurt either team?

I am not sure it helps or hurts Cov Cath going into this game, but I think it defintely hurts them with regards to recovering for next game. They play at New Cath Friday nite, and then have Cooper visit for a game Saturday nite.

CovCath 70-67

I edited the date in the title to reflect the new date.

Regardless of who wins the tempo battle, I doubt very seriously either team wins by 10 plus.

I predict that after this game is played there will be a 4 page (if not more) thread discussing it. This game has the biggest 9th Region game so far this season written all over it. Sure, there's more excitement yet to come, but with January heating up with these two District 35 rivals going at it for the probable Number 1 seed, this is what the excitement of the 9th Region is all about! Going into it with no clear cut favorite only makes it that much more intense. I see this game coming down to the team with the last possession prevailing and the Colonel Crazies storming the floor in a thunderous frenzy. Park Hills is going to be Rockin' tonight! :ylsuper:

Covington Catholic 71

Holmes 70

Is this game still on for tonight?

Just wondering how Coach Booher will react when the Crazies go nuts on their side of the gym tonight and I wonder if the Crazes will do to him, that they did to Mullins of Ryle! I am sure he has Coached in some loud gyms before but nothing like what the Crazies bring to the game!

I watched Holmes against NCC and thought they struggled with their height/bulk. I see the same thing happening here. As long as Cov Cath doesn't allow a track meet to break out, their size carries the day.

Cov Cath - 67

Holmes - 59

All: I enjoy the crazies as much as anybody, but if they were such an important factor in games as folks on here make them out to be, the Colonels would have several state crowns. As it stands now, CovCath has none. Crazies are fun, but not a factor in who wins or loses.

Maybe not at Rupp, but when they are right there in your face, getting in your head, towering over the floor and making their noise in the stands @ CovCath... I beg to differ...

No disrespect TOG, but I doubt very seriously a coach worries about what an opposing teams' fan section says/does.

Coach Booher has the same cool, calm demeanor that Henley has/had.

This game is between the players on the floor...not the players and the people in the stands.

Both schools were in session today, so I'd assume the game is still on as well.

Covcath had a 90 minute delay and Holmes was on their regular schedule.

Assuming CCH plays man-to-man (that's what they do so I don't see them changing) the key will be to stop the dish off. My fear is that Holmes gets penetration, Drew Baker comes over to swat it away, and Holmes drops it off. A defender is going to have to step in front of Drew's man or it will be a long night for CCH.

I'd also expect to see Alex Connelly take a shot at Hayes in a man defense.
