January 9, 201115 yr You're dreaming aren't you? That's why nothing ever changes in Cincinnati because people continue to have hope. The only way we will ever get change is to take a stand. Enough is enough. First of all enough people will never do that, so don't hold your breath. Specifically, what changes do you want and why??????
January 9, 201115 yr When your money goes to a person who does not care about the team, fans, city, region, and he just uses the team as his little inheritance toy, IT'S EASY! Just a month after the team agreed to a new restructured stadium deal, one of the best deals in the NFL, now he wants more concessions worth more that 60 MILLION! He just stuck his middle finger to the fans, city, county. People do not want to line his pockets anymore! It makes a lot of sense! IMO if you can just stop being a fan all of the sudden, then you were never really a fan in the first place. I disagree with 90% of what Mike Brown does, but there is no way that I will ever not root for them. But if the Bengals start winning again next year then the bandwagon will fill back up again.

I don't think they're stop being a fan, but are just fed up with a poorly ran organization. I don't think fans will stop cheering for the Bengals, just stop paying ticket prices.

So what you're saying is that fans have jumped on a bandwagon 2 times in the last 20 years? Why would you even mention that?
January 9, 201115 yr You're dreaming aren't you? That's why nothing ever changes in Cincinnati because people continue to have hope. The only way we will ever get change is to take a stand. Enough is enough. What kind of stand do you think people should make? Also do you honestly believe that would change anything with how he does things? The only thing that could change is Mike Brown taking this team somewhere else next time he has a chance. He is not going to change how he does things, and we all know that. So bascially be a fan even with all this stuff, or find a new team. Thats basically what it comes down to lol.

You can count on the county to tell him to stick it this time, I know for a fact on that, and that they are finally fed up with him, plus the county is running around trying to find ways to fix the stadium fund gap, and he has the nerve to ask for more than 60 million more now? Unless he sees he can't push people around anymore, then we will have to wait until his death before there will be any possible change, he is 73 now. Sad, but that may be the only way there is a change.

Obviously stuffing money in the Brown's bank account by supporting them hasn't help convince them that they need to make changes to be competitive year in and year out so the only other alternative is to not give them what they want. They are so far into the city of Cincinnati and Hamilton County that they are not moving this team anywhere. Besides if they want to use that as a threat let them move the team for all I care. If you enjoy rooting for a loser than enjoy it. Personally I have had all I can handle of mediocrity and will find someone else to root for even if it is a team from afar. Heck I can drive to Indy every other weekend and enjoy myself there or watch them on Direct TV for a lot less money than I have shelled out to the Browns over the years.
January 10, 201115 yr First of all enough people will never do that, so don't hold your breath. Specifically, what changes do you want and why?????? Two things; put a football guy in charge of the player decisions and quit bringing in all these misfits because they fit your wallet better and beef up your coaching staff like Marvin asked to allow for better scouting. We went through the same thing when Marge was in charge of the Reds and you see how the farm system changed after she sold the team and scouting got better.

I am just saying finding another is what you should do then, because if you think doing anything like you said would change things, then you would be wrong IMO. So you are best off rooting for another team then. Yes it sucks, but it is what it is. He is not going to change the way he does things. I think he made that obvious when he talked about how he is happy with how they scout and do things.

I don't think fans will stop cheering for the Bengals, just stop paying ticket prices. Well put; if I were a season ticket holder, I wouldn't buy this year. I know quite a few that aren't renewing their season tickets. Realistically, this is the best answer.
January 10, 201115 yr You're really going out on a limb aren't you?. You know as well as I do that the stadium will be over half full of yellow and blue for those games. My response is based on someone saying that if we had 8 blackouts, maybe that would wake someone up in the front office. I was just stating that there is no way there would be 8 blackouts.

More coaches or more scouts???

I understand the frustration with Mike Brown; he just doesn't know football, but thinks he does. BUT: They went to the playoffs last season, and he really did everything he could to ensure they would get better for this season. He resigned Bobbie Williams, Tank Johnson, and Roy Williams. He signed TO, Adam Jones, and Gibril Wilson. He drafted Gresham and Shipley to help the offense and had a great draft with Dunlap and Muckleroy looking like he is going to be a good player. What else could he have done this season???
