Who says you are not playing against the best when you classify you are still playing the best at the level of your school's enrollment..........and as far as leaving the KHSAA that is an inappropriate line. Again it is meant for ALL schools and ALL schools pay the dues.

Here you go, I guess you missed it, huh? Read below when I begin with funny stuff and read the Rocky lingo, it really explains it all.

You're reasoning makes no sense at all.

I'm not afraid to allow my daughter to face challenges in life, you can't baby them forever. When my daughter goes looking for a job, they sure aren't going to classify the applicants based on what school they went to. The job will be out there for anyone that attended a small or big school. That's HOW LIFE IS.

 

Funny stuff

I want my daughter to play against the best and if that is because it is a larger school so be it. I would rather her know that later in life she's going to face the same obstacles that she would when her smaller school plays a bigger school. I don't want to teach her that, "Hey, if the going gets to tough honey, I'll ley you quit and we'll find someone you can compete better against and maybe even win."

 

And if you think it is wrong that the KHSAA doesn't classify in basketball, then don't participate in it. Go another route. There are lots of leagues around that teaches friendship and harmony and doesn't keep score. But I won't go that route because I want my daughter to play the best, compete against the best and hopefully someday become one of the best and she's sure isn't going to accomplish that feat by sugarcoating everything for her.

 

It's kinda like when Ole Mick lined up Rocky a lot of easy opponents in Rocky 3 instead of challenging him and you saw what happened? Ole Clubber Lane TKO'd Rocky and became champ.

Money!!!!! Making a regional tournament is big money for small schools.

My thought on the small schools is you have your own class A tournament so why should you be able to double dip as well as dictate a blind draw for your district. That's what makes no sense to me. You get a chance to play in two state tournaments. You should not be allowed to vote blind draw if you participate in the Class A tournament, If you don't participate in the Class A tournament then yes you can vote. How does that sound?

I think one difference is one tournament is sanctioned by the KHSAA and the other is not (All A Classic).

Here's the difference with the Sweet 16. If seeding were done to the Sweet 16, it would have to be conducted by a selection committee (ala the NCAA tourney). With a District Tourney seeding, it's all based on regular season matchups. I also think that would make it difficult to seed regions, because teams would tie up 15-20 games if they had to play everyone in the region once. Besides, the regional tournaments are already seeded in a sense, with a district winner playing a district loser in the opening round.

 

Again, I see both sides of the argument. But for me as a fan, I place a greater emphasis on the Regional tournament rather than the District, therefore I would personally prefer seeding because that better ensures your better teams making the Regional tournament.

I thought you wanted #1 and #2 teams to play in the finals. For the region, the #1 and #2 teams might very well come from the same district.
