Seed the districts to make a better regional tournament and leave the state tournament as it is.

I agree. Seed districts. 3 or 4 games on the schedule to play everyone else in the district isn't a big deal.

In Mason's case I would bet they would still elect not to play the other three schools, which would put them as the last seed in that district. All that would accomplish would be that the second best team in the district would have little to no chance of making the Regional.

 

Augusta and Bracken are both having good seasons. It might be a better game than some would think.

After this year ,those schools may be competitive with Mason Co.

If it is all about the big money send the winners and the runner up teams from the region and make it a 32 team state tournament. Start the tournament on a Monday and be down to a sweet 16 by Wed. This would make sure that no upsets in the region finals would dilute the state tourney and it would make for a much stronger and truer state champion.
