January 5, 201115 yr Oregon and Arkansas in back to back years, tOSU has answered the bell and won the big bowl games. :thumb: Let the press (M.May first comes to mind:rolleyes:) and the OSU haters have at it. No one can deny the Buckeyes can and will win big games. Amazing job by the seniors tonight. Dex, Cam, Nate. Dane.... OWNED the Arkansas line all night. Great night by the 5 in the spotlight. OSU could have blown Arkansas out, they were, but second half we saw conservative play which has to end. Still the better team won! Another Buckeye BCS win plenty more to come. I agree, the Bucks defense was in the Arkansas qb's face all night and imo he rushed and "cracked" under pressure. CAM Heywood was an absolute freak, what a game he had. Pryor went out to play and answer his critics and imo he did. Boom Herron also looked really well and Sanzenbacher made big plays,big catches last night the way he has all season. As for the bolded,:thumb: I certainly agree and with the kids the Bucks have coming in next season(espcially the qb) they are not going away anytime soon. I wonder why they would let them back in the game? I think that Tressel got too conservative in the 2nd half. jmo ''Mark May sucks, Mark May sucks" the biggest Buckeye hater minus 3-4 peeps on here :lol: Dane gives love to Lou and none to May.. January 5, 201115 yr Maybe a couple.....but 15 yard digs, and the first post play were huge. :thumb: The biggest drops were on downfield throws where the velocity shouldn't have played as big a role. Nice win for OSU. They really frustrated Mallet with their pass rush. And, Arkansas couldn't stop Pryor's scrambling. The stop on 4th and 1 when the game was 14-7 was huge. It seemed Ohio State seized that momentum and rode it to a huge halftime lead that the Hogs ultimately could not overcome. I also think the safety was a bad call. He should have been given progress at the one yard line, IMO.
January 5, 201115 yr I have to agree with you on that one. Herons forward progress was stopped at the 2yd line and they pushed him back into the endzone.. The refs were in lala land on that one.. Refs got it right. His foward progress was stopped but he got loose from the tackler and started around the end but was met by another defender and tackled. If he had run around the end and up the sideline for a touchdown how would you see it then. That happens a lot when the runner gets away from the tackler and goes a different direction just this time it was in the end zone.

January 5, 201115 yr Congrats to one of the Co-Champs of the Big 10. The Bucks lose this game, well it would been really hard on the Big 10 with all three Co-Champs going down. They were the better team while the Hogs are about forth in the SEC. I could see why the safety was called and also could have seen the ball at the one. The punt block, what a great play by the kid, but John L. Smith the special teams coach for the Hogs probaby didn't sleep much last nite.. On the replay you can see about five Hogs around the ball, but thats sports. Ryan needs to come back. Also surprised at no rolling pocket for Ryan, the Bucks put some grerat pressure on the QB.
January 5, 201115 yr Anyone care to post the stats for the 5 Ohio State players who are suspended for next season? I know Pryor & Herron played well. Same with the WR. And of course, the game-sealing INT was picked off by a player suspended next season. I think it'd be interesting to see all of the stats in one place.
January 5, 201115 yr Neither team deserved to win this game IMO. I honestly don't know which team is better because Arky played a horrible first half, OSU played a terrible second half. If Arky picks up the blocked punt they score and win. Now i'm about as neutral to OSU as anyone on here, but I thought even though it was a great game both teams looked like crap and were lucky to play each other in a bowl rather than have to face TCU, Stanford, or Wisconsin because they would have got blasted IMO. I thought OSU played a better game than Arky, but they choked and cannot handle the pressure at all. I do think that if Childs plays, the Hogs win this one.
January 5, 201115 yr Congratulations to Ohio State. I'm not a fan of them and was not pulling for them, but they deserve recognition for a big win. I agree completely with what some posted about the drops that receivers from Arkansas had, but Mallett definitely had his share of bad pass attempts as well from Ohio State's defensive pressure. IMO, the biggest difference maker throughout the whole game was Arkansas's defense during the first half and second half. If they played defense the whole game the way they played the second half, the result could have definitely went the other way.

I've got to say something about all that for one time, and one time only. I heard last night one of the announcers talk about: "You have to realize this decision was for all the kids on the team who earned the right to be there. You have to think of the whole team." These five did not think of the whole team during their actions. I couldn't help but find it ironic the opponent was Arkansas. A little history lesson here from 1977. The Razorbacks were 10-1 and in the Orange Bowl vs. #2 Oklahoma (also 10-1). Three Arkansas players were suspended for the bowl game because of disciplinary reasons. They were the top two rushers and top receiver. Lou Holtz was making a statement that he believed in his team. The third string running back Roland Sales went wild, the Defense forced something like 6 turnovers and the Hogs romped over the Sooners Schooner 31-6. Ironic isn't it? :thumb::walk:
