That’s what makes the NCAA such a sham, they create bogus rules and bogus punishments and can't even enforce their bogus rules fairly and consistently.

I believe Pryor will enter the draft after bowl season, especially with the suspension. If he enters in the coming draft, I don't see him getting picked until at least the 3rd round, possibly even farther than that.

MAYBE all of these players parents took them to get the tatoos, not knowing their parents gave away "gifts" and didn't pay for the tatoos. Pryor's parents sold his rings and plaques without him knowing about it. :sssh:

I agree here, the NCAA with all of its ridiculous rules makes it impossible for a kid to know all of them or do anything but no matter how stupid they are but they are the rules.

To summarize for those who don't want to read the whole thread:

 

--Pryor and others are dumb for selling their stuff.

--They knew it was wrong.

--The biggest issue here is the NCAA and their archaic forms of punishment.

Of course, it's generally not the ones worth millions of dollars.....:walk:

They will miss the first five games, a couple are or should be easy wins but at Miami and at Michigan State are included in the games they are suspended for. So, those two are hardly easy games and could cripple OSU chances in the Big10 and national title hunt next season in which they would stand a very real shot at both. As for this seasons Sugar Bowl I would not have any problem with it if they are suspended for this game as well. Actually imo the 5 game suspension should be the Sugar Bowl and the first four regular season games in 2011.

 

All five should be suspended against Arkansas. If this happened in the SEC, ACC, Big East, and other conferences, suspensions would have been instant. But everyone knows of the "good ole boys" relationship between the NCAA and the Big 10 when it comes to football. The same can almost be said for the PAC 10 as well.

I would say the NCAA can seem to be selective at time but please don't give us "good ol boy" favorites stuff. Are you actually trying to say that some of the "all mighty" SEC schools (which I am a fan of as well) don't get preferrential treatment or lesser penalties? That imo is just crazy, sure they do and we don't know how much may be swept uner the rug with some schools.

I fully agree that the NCAA is screwed up with all of their stupid, non important rules. I believe that they have came up with so many rules that they don't even know what is in them. Kind of like the Obama medical insurance package, it passed and no one knew what the heck was in it and most didn't even read it. Maybe the NCAA rules commitie really is our Congress and Senate. :idunno::lol:

My question is why doesn't Ohio State continue with the suspensions of the bowl game anyway? If they are such a rule following, law abiding institution then they should go above and beyond what the NCAA does. Make it hurt the whole program in the bowl game. You know you will never see that happen because O$U are as big rule breakers as any other schools out there.

Now we don't want OSU to have an excuse if Arkansas beats them. If they were suspended for the game they would say well all our best players weren't playing.

I just heard that ESPN's Mark (I invented college football) was the one that made the statement about the NCAA favoring the Big10 and Pac10 over the SEC and others. Now that makes perfect sense, if May said then it is gospel . I wonder if Marc May has ever heard the name Cam Newton? Now just who does he play for and in what conference?

I guess if Pryor would have given the stuff that he sold to his mother to sale, then claim that she needed the money and he knew nothing about it then everything would be o.k.....Hello Mr. Newton . What a joke Mark May is, that statement only backs up what I have always thought aboit Mr. May. He is a pompass jerk that reminds me of the Billy Packer of college football. At least that now is just one other commentator that I thought was nothing but worthless air and then he opened his pie hole and removed all doubt. What an arrogant and stupid statement, May just didn't say that was his opinion, he gauranteed the NCAA was bias in favor of Ohio State.

I realize that everyone has their own opinion on May, that is fine and their opinion but this to me was way out there. May must actuallly believe that his opinion is the gospel and there could be no other opinion that could possibly be considered.

I love listening to anything and everything about college football, I love it but I have now boycotted Mark May. On the college football programming with him and Lou Holtz or anyone else I will just mute the parts when May is talking. I know that really shakes him and espn up but as they say......"it is what is is" :lol:.

Again -Pryor,Herron and the others were wrong be it a stupid rule or not, whether they claimed to not know does not change the fact that they broke the rule. That was a stupid and selfish move and imo no excuse for it. I am not making excuses for them.
