December 14, 201015 yr NWO any reason as to why NKY is in the 2-5 inches of snow range but doesn't have a winter storm warning yet? Are they just waiting until the forecast is a little more definitive before they issue a warning? NKY has a different NWS (Wilmington, Oh) whereas CKY and EKY go with the NWS out of Louisville and Jackson.
December 15, 201015 yr Please no power outages. Pretty please??? I don't want mine or anyone's power to be out, but please, please, please don't let my mother's power go out!. She's elderly and in poor health and just can't take the stress. Last time her power (and mine, though we are located about 10 miles apart) were out for around a week.
December 15, 201015 yr I have a sump pump that needs to have to power to it at all times especially if there is going to be rain/ice. Looks like the purchase of a generator is in my near future. Had a sump in my first two houses and learned the painful (and expensive) way that you absolutely have to have a backup sump that runs on a battery, especially if you have a finished basement. They've really come down in price and are certainly worth the investment. Don't have one (sump) in my new house and am quite glad - never really felt comfortable with those things and was constantly worried they wouldn't work.

December 15, 201015 yr This sucks, I have a final at NKU Thursday morning at 10 am. It's highly unlikely that they'll cancel because it's a final, therefore I'm going to have to leave by probably 8am to make it up there in time.

UK cancelled their Monday exams from 8-10 am to be rescheduled. I don't think it's too farfetched to think it could be rescheduled.
December 15, 201015 yr Thanks. Leaving So. Florida at 5 am for Indpls by way of (?) Louisville. Will keep an eye on this and my route and stopping overnight at the right time.
December 15, 201015 yr Latest model shown by NWO's favorite meteorologist Chris Bailey looks like we could get a good amount of snow out of this. Looks like NKY could see 4-6 inches and parts of EKY could be 6+. This is certainly getting interesting.
