I've seen shirts that have said that from multiple schools in the area its just something that has been around a while and if you in high school everyone has seen it and heard about it. Its been around for years.

 

Yea, it's happened before, it'll happen again, by multiple student bodies, as someone else stated that's just kids being kids and not realizing who will be around to see that such as younger more impressionable kids. These kinds of shirts are actually sold in stores, online etc so it's hard to be surprised when you see kids doing stuff like that.

And they won't care. So what's the point in bringing attention to it? If any thing you're just giving them the attention they wanted, why do you think they did it in the first place?

That's a very sad commentary on SK adult guidance.

Maybe this cannot be answered on here, but did the shirts have the direct offensive remark or was it what was said in the moderator's note at the top where the two first letters are switched? I can't believe students would be able to wear shirts like that.

I think it was the undedited version. I dunno though I didn't see the shirts and my understanding is it was only a handfull of kids wearing them.

SK parent or Ryle parent, either way they are adults. I know if I was 16-17 and a parent called me out in front of my friends that would only escalate things. I'm not saying by any means the kids are in the right, but for anybody but an administrator to challenge them would be foolish. And I've seen administrators let alot of things go in the stands, especially chants and cheers. And I've seen administrators crack down on things alot less offensive. And I'm not faulting the SK administrators because I can't say with full certainty they actually saw anything. Bottomline: Some high school students made a poor judgment call. If random adults respond, its adding fuel to the fire. The word "classless" shouldn't be thrown around on these kids.

Letters were switched, just like in the note.

To be honest the SK students got off their bus and got in the first empty section they seen I think they didn't even know that was Ryles side.

 

To be naive and ignorant...I would say several, not a few. To answer the topic of the thread, it is classless. A; to attempt to invade the Home Bleacher section. B; to wear the t-shirt in question.

 

Mexitucky, what would be your opinion if Beechwood fans walked into Newport Stadium, turned to their right and sat in the first two sections as they entered the bleachers.

Why would the visiting fans want to sit on the home team side? I'm not buying the they didn't know it was Ryle's side. That is a bunch of crap that nobody is going to buy. That to me is just more Simon Kenton fans being classless, and looking to start trouble.

That just shows you how things have changed with some people. If I had disrespected an adult when I was a kid, no matter the situation, my dad would have wore me out. There are too many kids that have no respect for anything or anyone anymore, and it is the fault of their parents.

Well said, I wouldn't be able to sit for some time because my father would have beat my rear. It's amazing how some of today's generation have such a lack of respect and it is definitely an indictment on their parents. It could also have something to do with the school systems they come from (private school vs. public, and not all public). I'm sure this last comment is going to create it's own little debate.
