Do you think that the team that loses the Simon/Ryle playoff game will have had an unsuccessful season based on the loss?

 

I am going to say for Simon yes a loss to Ryle equals an unsuccessful season but for Ryle I say no because of their win over Highlands.

 

Thoughts? Agree? Disagree?

 

I thought this was a medicore Highlands team this year.

SK was closer last year in playing toe to toe with X, who went on to win the state championship; competing with and sometimes beating X & T should be the ultimate goal for these two programs; Ryle's encounters with the big 2 have been much more lopsided; consistency is the key for both; Dixie has actually done more than both in beating T once and playing them tough in other years.

 

Very true, a friend of mine had a younger brother who played on the Dixie team that beat Trinity. It was completely electric and a neat moment to never forget in high school sports.

Both teams should consider the season a disappointment if they lose. If Ryle loses they can hang their hat on going 1-1 against Highlands and they beat SK during the regular season. If SK loses, many thought they would and it was on the road.

I had to go back to an old KHSAA scoreboard because I could not remember the year. It was at T in the 1999 playoffs and T beat Ryle in double OT 32-26.

I think more of a downer for SK if they lose. Losing twice to what has become a heated rival, would have to be somewhat demoralizing.

That would've been the same team that lost some players in 2000 I believe, in the bad car wreck on Frogtown Road if I'm not mistaken. Very very sad events.

Was that the year their QB went to Western Kentucky to play football I can't think of his name? I think they had a real good wide receiver to that year.
