November 5, 201015 yr I have been informed by a source close to the situation that today as many as 20 influential boosters met with Kelly and Swarbrick and requested they resign from their positions. Neither man chose to follow through with the resignations and some tension clearly left the meeting room. One booster reportedly asked Kelly directly how he could be unaware of the severe weather conditions to which Kelly replied that he was unaware. http://www.examiner.com/college-football-in-national/source-notre-dame-boosters-request-resgnation-of-brian-kelly-jack-swarbrick

Seems that even the big-whigs there believe someone was at fault.
November 5, 201015 yr If they asked him to resign, and he refused, they need to fire him. And he will get paid still which is why I am sure he won't resign.
November 5, 201015 yr He is holding out for the payday, which he should do. I do think he deserves to be fired. I still think it was a crime and he should be prosecuted.

As head coach, he's responsible for the safety and well being of those charged to him. If this kid would have simply fallen off one of the lifts, that's an accident. The fact that he allowed him go up there in dangerous conditions, when the equipment clearly stated that they were not to be used in such conditions, makes him responsible. He should without a doubt be fired, and they would have a pretty good case against him in a criminal case IMO.

November 5, 201015 yr I don't want to know what's right or wrong, I just want honesty on this: If Notre Dame was 8-1 right now, would the boosters be asking for Kelly's resignation?

November 5, 201015 yr Or if he hadn't made such a dumb call the last game. It's been more than one game this season.
