Is there a certain threshhold of time that he had to beat his head against the wall to really satisfy you that he was truly trying to be bipartisan? Are you telling me that it is ok that the leader of the free world, the President of the United States, the most powerful person in the world (according to some) just give up after less than 2 years? Sounds like a strong leader there. And let's stop with the hyperbole of beating his head against the wall. Obama as been less likely to work with the other side as any president I can remember. Something tells me Obama could do no wrong in your eyes.

I think Obama has made an effort to work with the other side on some issues, but the other side is entrenched in the attitude that they would rather browbeat him than work with him. Nothing the past several presidents haven't had to deal with. I really think most if not all recent presidents came into office thinking they could work with the opposition. It's just not going to happen.

Since he never really acted bipartisan from the get go I don't see how you can argue in favor of him, but you've been in his corner since day one so I'm not surprised.

November 2, 201015 yr George W & Barack have made Clinton look like a very good President. The fact of the matter is that Clinton was a very good President. Much more moderate than the haters want to believe. His libido kept him from being one of the top 10 presidents ever IMO. But I digress. Back to this most interesting discussion. Obama and Nixon comparison. Who would have thunk it?

The President has to be the one to extend his hand first. This President hasn't done that at any point. He has taken shots at the republicans every chance and made sure to tell the people who is at fault for what is going on. It's grown tiresome and it isn't working. Again, I will say the country is in no better shape now then it was when he took office. The President can blame everyone he wants for that but the fact is it starts with him.
