Owensboro Catholic @ Ft. Campbell predictions

IMO Johnson is not the key to the game, it's the other FC running backs. This is not a knock on Johnson, but the other guys can make his night that much easier.

I agree. Tim Atcher has put up some incredible numbers in the shadow of Johnson, rushing for over 1,000 yards and averaging 13 yards a carry. If OCath's defensive front puts pressure on Croft and makes him scramble, they can force him to make some mistakes through the air. I agree with the other poster that said depth once again this week should decide the game.

Somebody give me some good directions to FT. Campbell from Corbin Ky.

Thinkin about makin the trip friday, IMO going to be the best game in the state

Map Quest shows going allmost to Nashville then comming back up.

Anybody got better directions?

Get to Bowling Green and take U.S. 68 west into Russellville. On the east side of Russellville, you will turn left onto U.S. 79. Take U.S. 79 into Clarksville, Tenn., and get on I-24 west toward Hopkinsville. Once you're back into Kentucky, get off at Exit 86 and turn left onto U.S. 41-A. Go past the truck stops and motels. Continue on this road until you see the main gate (Gate #4) of Fort Campbell. It is across the street from a U.S. Calvary store. When you enter, you must go to the visitor's center to the right. The driver will have to furnish a license, insurance card, and registration receipt for the vehicle. Every adult in the car must have a photo ID with them. Everyone must go into the center and show their ID. The driver will be photographed and given a temporary visitor's pass. Once back in the car, proceed straight on the road, past the Burger King, and you will see the stadium on the left. Turn left to the stadium.

Good Luck.

Mapquest's route may be easiest to follow if you are not familiar with the area, but if I was you I would take the Cumberland Pky. to I-65 stay on I-65 until you get to the Natcher Pky. Take the Natcher about 5 miles north to exit 5 or 6 Hwy 68 /80. Take 68/80 west through Russellville and into Hopkinsville. Then take 41 A south until you reach Ft. Campbell. Main gate is off to the right. Can't give you exact directions to the field but as you enter the base the field is to the southeast but not too far. Go past the middle or elem school on the left and turn left. You then turn right, but I don't know what street, if I remember right you should be able to see the lights for the field.

You may want to just stick to the mapquest route as it is likely faster. some sections of 68 / 80 are only two lane. Plus the bypass around Russellville and Hoptown can be confusing. As you enter Hoptown you either have to take the bypass to 41 A (don't remember the hwy #) or stay on 68/80 until you reach the Pennyrile Pky. take it south til it ends which will but you on 41 A / Ft. Campbell Blvd.

Hopefully someone local can give you better directions once on base.

Looks like Scribe beat me to it.

I'd take his route it is probably better.

One thing though is as you get into Russelville, make sure you stay on business 68 into town. If you follow the signs for 68 it will put you on the bypass which doesn't intersect with Hwy. 79.

This should be a really great game...

I'm going to have to go with Owensboro ...

Good Luck to both teams!!

Are you positive on the restrictions getting in? We didn't have to do all of this 2 years ago. Photograph of every person in the car??

Please stick to the game in this thread and deal with US Army policy in another thread.

I have heard that Johnson and Gordon for Ft. Campbell are a little banged up. Did Gordon not play last week? Are they 100%?

Obviously, if they aren't full strength it will help Catholic.

According to media reports, Fort Campbell LB Orlando Misaalefua has committed to Louisville. Also, Micah Johnson has narrowed his choices to Kentucky, Louisville, Georgia, Virginia Tech and Michigan.

Thank you for the directions.

Wasn't sure if there wasn't a quicker way then going allmost all the way to Nashville.

Thanks Scribe, I appreciate it.

Ft. Campbell 42

Aces 28

I just don't see them scoring 42 points on Catholic, Catholic actually does have a defense and they aren't to shabby. I think the score will be more in the 28-21 range, and someone might crack the 30 point mark if they are lucky.

The biggest danger for Catholic is Johnson getting one on one with the smaller d-backs. If this happens a lot then FC might hit the 40's. The d-line and linebackers must hold their line and tackle better than they have all year.
