One thing that has been forgotten...could it be the Football Gods from up on their thrones are mad at the Mighty Birds after the KHSAA gave them the wins back from the past just this year? If they lose again soon, well Im just saying.......

Sheehan plays WR and did play last night but dropped the one or two passes that were thrown to him...one big one late in the game that would've put the Birds on the Raider 2 or 3 yard line. Highlands ended up scoring that drive, but could've definetly used the extra time that that play would've given them.

 

Sheehan is the Moss of the offense, I don't know all of their speeds on the team but he has to be one of the fastest players. He runs the streak pattern that is his job. I expect him next year to have more of the Gold role running more routes as well but right now they are using him in his best role and that's to run right by the DBs.

Let me be clear first of all that Ryle deserved to win this game. But look how hard it is to beat HHS. You have to control the ball 34 plus minutes to 13. Have to go on 4th down a few times and make it to keep drives alive. Have a no call on a fumble (which happens at times). Have some dropped passes (both teams actually did). Have a coach go for 2 after the first TD and not make it, etc... and HHS loses by 2. I just thought that was amazing to have to have all things just about go your way to beat them by 2 points. Congrats to Ryle for pulling it off.

Given what transpired later with Eckstein, I can't say I'd have been too anxious to shake his hand either.:puke:

Let me get this straight. Pointing out that a player dropped a pass is unfair criticism? Do I get slapped for saying the qb will learn to make better decisions with experience? Isn't saying that the Raiders dominated the time of possession in essence criticizing the defense?

I agree.They are solid posters who mean no harm but its easy to take some posts personally when you are close to the player being mentioned.

 

While I also agree with hhs in that the boys definitely arent trying to do anything wrong out there on the field and feel terrible when they drop a pass or do something that hurts the team. It definitely doesnt need to be blogged about, especially since the kids read this. I have been guilty of this myself and regret it. They are fantastic athletes and have made some awesome plays this year.
