How did Pavy get hurt?

 

Early in the year there was a fumble in which Pavy tried to recover. Elliott also wanted that ball not seeing Pavy and jumped onto Pavy's shoulder pretty rough on the ground. It's football. People get hurt. I bet if I played soccer or cross country I would actually feel like I'm 21. Instead broken bones, torn muscles, and 6 concussions later I feel like I'm 60+ haha! I wouldn't trade it for anything.

 

Both teams are beat up so injuries are not an excuse. Two great teams who played a great game! Time for NKY to come home with 4 Rings!

Nothing to do with what is posted, but it is concerning of how posts are posted, who posts them, and why they are posted. And it's just not about one post or one player.

 

It is concerning that someone that has over 18,000 posts and who posts everything about all sports, all year long, who knows all about a player, suddenly posts and asks what position a specific HHS player plays, c'mon. Then, someone else who posts the play by play of the entire HHS vs. Ryle game, spins off it, and posts information regarding that player that is only partially correct. By mistake? And its concerning that the same someone doing the play by play post on this website, at the exact moment that HHS goes down 28-12 posts to fire up the bus, the win streak is over, yet while he is on the bus, calls out a player, that along with his teammates never quit until the clock ran out.

 

My point is the praise or criticism of some isn't worth the words on the paper. Hear all, but listen to only those that you respect. However, don't disrespect those that don't respect you.

 

Time to move on to this week's game

Wow. I shouldn't have to do this but ....

 

In no way was I slamming or "bashing" any Highlands player. The plays that I mentioned that got some adults riled up were two key plays in the game IMO and I mentioned them. I only knew one of the kids involved (note that I never used any names) and after I got a PM (not hard to guess from whom) I found out the name of the other player involved. So just in case those players are thinking I have an agenda, I will say that in no way was I bashing. Heck, I was asked to nominate some NKY players for an all-star game and one of the two involved made my list so that sort of shoots the "agenda" theory down. This was the first time I had watched Highlands play this year and with so many new players I really do NOT know who all of the players are. As I told one of the upset parents who PMd me I never root against a player unless I know the kid is a flat out punk(and even then I can still appreciate their talents). I've never heard one bad thing about any of the two involved, thus, I root for their success unless it's at the expense of the Blue Colonels. Continued success to two fine players.

Good job clearing that up fellas. The last thing we need on here is bashing of young men. We are all fans and appreciate what these players do every friday night just so we see pure love for the game. I know from experience that it really hurts to go on a website that your head coach told you NOT to go on and you find an actual thread of just bashing you.(If you don't believe me PM me and I'll show you the link ha) So good job making things straight.

What happened in the 1995 HHS-Ryle game that led to the coaches not shaking hands???

 

The only game that I remember not shaking hands is when a player from Anderson County hit Michael Waite after he kicked off knowing full well the circumstance. The team was fired up and thought the best decision was not to shake hands after the game.

Just watched the game. I thought Ryle's oline won the game. Great pad level and good leg drive while maintaing their blocks.

 

HHS looks a littler undersized up front, but the speed is still there. Ryle had little success running wide.

 

Towles is HHS' best runner.

 

The Ryle kids run hard and the qb always seemed to fall forward for an extra yard or two.

 

I'm surprised HHS didn't stack the box more on the last drive.

I assure you that you do not know Clyde if you think he would post something intentionally negative about a player. He's just not that type of person. Go back through the history of his posts (take you forever, of course) and you'll also find it impossible to make a case that he is anti-HHS. He regularly posts positive comments about players from all schools, including HHS. And on many occasion I've seen him criticize other posters who openly take a cheapshot at a high school age kid. I didn't see anything negative or over-the-top with his posts in this thread. He simply pointed out a critical play of two that occurred during the game. I know the guy (Clyde) personally - he's just not the "bashing" type. I think you may be a bit sensitive to this issue because of your closeness with a player involved.

I agree, Clyde made some post last year that I didn't agree 100 % with but once I settled down and read his post again I understood where he was coming from and he never bashed the player he just expressed his opinion. This is one of the bad things about these sites ,sometimes the truth hurts and we don't agree with posting it in public once we know our kids already feel bad about what happened. Like it or not, it happens just move on or do what I did and get away from the site for awhile

Actually, a healthy Compton is HHS best runner. Towles also gets it done quite nicely. I don't mean to take anything from his contributions.

My opinion is that Highlands is undersized. I'm not sure what their scheme is, so I can't say if they are 2 gap or 1 gap on the line. What I can say is that they seemed to be slanting a lot and overpusuing from the LB position. Ryle did a good job of using that to their detriment by putting athletic bodies on them and driving them where they wanted to go. As a result, Ryle had a very tough time getting outside, but did a lot of damage as lanes opened up from tackle to tackle.

 

Highlands played a 3-3-5 set. They worked in a 4-3 set and Ryle went 3 and out. They couldnt run this much because they dont have many blitz packages out of this set. This is changing this week in practice.

With Bartruff, Pavy, and Forlenza Towles runs backwards out of bounds even more just saying

 

Even more? I think he may have ran out of bounds backwards once. Smartest runner in the NKY imo.
