Anyone who has watched Boyle County play defense knows it is the norm to have multiple defenders at the ball so it makes perfect sense for the high number of credited total tackles for the team and players. I was at the game last week and it is very realistic for me to believe Lamar had 32 tackles last week with 19 of them being solo tackles. Especially with Zach Hester out. What I am trying to say is that by no means are any of these stats made up nor will they ever be. The game is on film and if the 32 tackles isn't legit(which would shock me if it wasn't legit, for the record) then I guess that would be made known. I think it is a little harsh to call shenanigans on our statisticians but I can understand why you did so. These guys gain nothing by making up stats or reporting false stats. I know them personally and I know they wouldn't do anything like that. They have no reason to.

Actually, looking back on it now it seems even less likely given the tackle totals for the game. If Dawson had 19 solo tackles then that only leaves 37 offensive plays and there were 110 tackles credited on those 37 plays. Even if Dawson were the only player in the game to record a solo tackle that means that Boyle recorded 3 tackles for every play. I know that Boyle has a very tough run defense but 3 tackles per play (and it actually has to be more than that assuming someone besides Dawson had a solo tackle in the game) sounds like anyone that was in on the pile got credit for a tackle. I'm not saying that Dawson isn't a great player, because he is, just that these high school tackle totals have a way of getting inflated.

So if that is the case did everyone stay back when Dawson was making his tackles? Maybe he did make 19 solo tackles, that certainly isn't a stretch for a player of his caliber. However, it is very rate for 3 players to be credited with an assist on a tackle at any level of football. It just seems that there were an awful lot of credited tackles for the number of plays ran by East. Go look at college and pro stats, very rarely are more than 2 players credited with a tackle.

I can recall myself registering 24 tackles in a game versus Washington County in 1992, and had another teammate register 22 tackles in that same game. 46 tackles between the two of us in a game that got out of hand unfortunately. They were pretty loaded that season.

I believe the speed in the SEC is the most comparable to the NFL in college football year in out. Kentucky facilities are more than capable for the development to the NFL. The strength and conditioning coach at Kentucky came from the NFL. The defensive coordinator spent many years in the NFL, critic of Coach Browns play call or schemes or not? He knows what it takes to get to the NFL and stay there. Coach Smith most likely has limited experience with the NFL, but I am not going to get on this message board and say the Coach Smith does not know what he is doing. I think he is a great player; IMO him choosing a school because they have sent me kids to the NFL shouldn't be the deciding factor on his decision. He has the physical skills to get there but making the NFL has a lot to do with character and drive. With all things considered I believe if he went to Kentucky and performed well enough in the SEC to become an NFL caliber player then he will have just a good of shot as anywhere else if not better than most schools.

I don't think so. I wasn't clear enough. I was trying to explain the reasoning behind 129 tackles on the game for the Rebels. My guess is that they credit 3 people for an assisted tackle if 3 people bring the ball carrier down. When they are all listed as solo tackles on the website it is hard for me to explain but before "32 tackles" became a story it had already been discussed on multiple message boards that Lamar had 19 solo tackles and at least 11 assisted tackles. That's 30 tackles at the very least. I really don't know what else to tell you when everyone who was at the game says 'yeah, it looked like he made 32 tackles to me.'

My other argument against UK and UL is that I would like to see him play at a winning program. Preparation to fulfill his NFL dream is just part of my argument against UK. I want to see him win at the next level as well. Face it, that is not happening a UK or UL.

Still if winning and making the NFL are more important to a player than early playing time, UK isn't the way to go. It sucks to say that, but I think it's the truth. Why turn down a program like Florida or Oregon to stay at UK? It would be like a basketball player in Mississippi staying at home to go to Ole Miss when he was heavily recruited by UK, Duke and North Carolina.
