I lived a pretty sheltered life growing up... Mom would never let me travel anywhere for a concert. So I didn't get to go to one until they built the Expo Center in Pikeville. Therefore, my first concert was Three Doors Down/Shinedown.

The best part of that concert was the opening act: Illbreak. They've since split up, but they're the only band from that night I still listen to with any regularity. Their singer, Gareth Asher, is now a solo artist and probably my personal favorite singer-songwriter. He's released three albums, and while he doesn't do anything overly groundbreaking, he's got a good voice and makes catchy music. What else can you ask?

So were Shinedown/Three Doors down worth the price of admission? Probably not. Was Illbreak worth it? Absolutely.

 I got tear gassed at my first concert.

1996 Jammin' on Main in Cincinnati. Went to see Seven Mary Three. I knew things were gonna get dicey when I saw one of those big metal bike-rack-looking crowd barriers go sailing through the air.

Moral of the story: Don't go to concerts featuring low-rent Pearl Jam knock-offs. :D

I was at the festival that day, but had something else going on that night so I left well in advance of that craziness.

38 Special at Morehead State in 88ish.

Ozzy...It was awesome...

Jan 6th 1983

Cincinnati Gardens

Iron Maiden w/ Twisted Sister

UP THE IRONS

So that's when you started wearing makeup...lol

Muddy Waters/Eric Clapton

KISS/Aerosmith. Dont remember the year but it was at Riverbend and a dang good concert.

I was at that concert.:thumb:

Saw Rush the first time on the Hemispheres tour. I've seen them four more times since. My favorite live band.

The first one I went to (Anne Murray at the Ohio State Fair) is nowhere near as cool as the first one I actually paid my own money to attend (Run DMC/Jazzy Jeff and Fresh Prince/Public Enemy/EPMD/JJ Fad).

You are the only person I know who can claim to have seen Anne Murray as well as Chuck D.

George Benson at the Fox theater in St. Louis. 1983.

Classic old theater.
