October 21, 201016 yr T.O. did cost us the Carolina game by getting P.I. called on the Panthers' 43, and then they intercept it the next play, kick a field goal, and win it. I still disagree with him being the most overrated and we've yet to even see him break out this year. They beat Carolina....
October 21, 201016 yr Based on his salary for this season, TO is a steal. I agree that TO overrates TO.

October 22, 201016 yr I know how it's going to sound, but going into this season CP was way more overrated than TO, to me at least. TO is what he is, a deep ball specialist and he may be the 2nd best in league history at catching bombs behind Randy Moss. He's not in the mold of a Jerry Rice, Larry Fitzgerald or Andre Johnson who can do a little bit of everything. I think the trio are all over-rated.
October 22, 201016 yr Maybe the question was: "Is TO overrated by TO?" This is best statment so far...

I still disagree with him being the most overrated and we've yet to even see him break out this year. I think Owens' offensive pass interference happened in the Tampa Bay game. T.O. has lived up to (perhaps even out paced) his hype this year. Chad on the other hand has been a major disappointment.
October 22, 201016 yr Didn't T.O. have something like 222 yards receiving a couple of weeks ago? Yeah, I'd say he's out of his league...

October 22, 201016 yr What is becoming a big pet peeve of mine is when people use the word "overrated" they equate it to being sucky. That is not what "overrated" means. Tony Romo was listed as #2 on the list. He is elevated by many to be a top flight QB in the NFL despite not really proving a whole lot. I think you could argue Brett Favre is "overrated" by many in the sense his career totals are not necessarily a reflection of how good he is, but rather how long he has hung around. Will Farrell. Many think he is the greatest comedian of my generation. I personally feel he is "overrated" and not suited for leads in movies and does best in supporting roles or cameos. I am not saying I agree with T.O. being listed as #1, but most are just looking at his numbers and not overall team impact. If you recall, T.O. was not exactly a hot commodity on the Free Agency market. The Bengals were not having to jump through hoops to pick him up and they brought him in at next to nothing. There is a reason for that you know. Yet, when he was signed, you would have thought the Bengals booked their tickets to the Superbowl. Pundits were all over the Bengals, Chad was proclaiming it would be a disappointment if they lose a game, etc. A stripper may look good in the dark and have a great figure, but there are a lot of qualities that most likely offset those traits.
