This "super district" will be like 7th region basketball. Harder to come out of your district/region than it is to win the state tournament. T, X, & H will beat up each other in the 2nd and 3rd rounds, and then have potentially running clocks in the semi-finals and finals. Whatever. :idunno:

How? That wouldn't shorten it at all, given the current format.

One less round of regional playoffs needed to eliminate a team that already lost a game in the district playoffs would cut some days out.

 

Even if the over lap of boys and girls spring sports adds a day or two to the playoffs the fact is they do add length to the playoff schedules, which makes them about as long as the football playoffs.

 

I just don't understand how anyone can be in favor of every baseball, basketball and softball team qualifying for the playoffs but complains when the most, but not all, of the football teams make the playoffs.

If everyone is going to make the playoffs, then no need to keep score during the regular season. Let's just draw for seeding before the playoffs and everyone will feel good. Yay!

 

I think the home field playoff game is why we keep score during regular season. I would much rather be a 2seed hosting than a 3seed traveling. I also know over the years there have been some great 2vs3 games and I think Bourbon Co. won state as a 4seed and maybe Henry Clay or someone else made finals as a 4 seed.

Once again ... football can only play one game a week. It takes five weeks to play five postseason football games.

 

Basketball and baseball ... teams can play nine or 10 postseason games in three weeks. Only one of those games would be eliminated by district runners-up not advancing to regional tournaments.

No Lex Cath was the 4 seed. Because Bourbon beat Lex Cath in the Region Finals at BC.
