As for their decision I'm glad that they decided the way they did. As others have stated the KHSAA shouldn't have put themselves above the law the way they did. Regardless of why.

I think we should use names here because I think it is important to people that they should know who the old commisioner was, Brigid Devries. I have heard the same thing in that Brigid Devries was not going to let Mitchell be eligible on her time. I believe this would have eventually been worked out in court no matter who was the commisioner. The KHSAA eventually would have had to go with the court ruling and the court ruling was that Mitchell was eligible.

 

This whole thing did have something positive come out of it, players are now eligible to play under a court injunction.

I'm going to tip one back this Friday, to Old Brigid Devries. I hope she sees this ruling by the Board as a personal slap down. I'll not soon forget how she orchestrated having a kid from Bell County read the sportsmanship statement at the State Championship game the week after Mitchell almost single handedly beat the Bobcats on Log Mountain to reach the final game. Good Riddance Brigid!

Literally if it would have been a she instead of he I would have know the difference. HAHA that is classic.

The way I understand it the KHSAA isn't now ruling that Mike was eligible. They are saying they can't punish the team for acting accoring to a courts ruling so Highlands gets the wins back. But as far as Mike goes if the title game was tomorrow he still wouldn't be able to play. Am I understanding this correctly?
