Agree with all the above except that this team is united, more so than last year. Our seniors are dedicated and hard working. Maybe there are one or two bad apples but overall these guys really worked hard during the offseason to improve this year, and started off strong. The season unraveling is mostly due to poor coaching and not utilizing the players in the proper positions. It's frustrating for everyone close to the program. I would love to see what another coach could have done with this team.

I agree 100% This team could of been good! Its a shame for all the seniors that had to suffer.

Hopefully Boone gets it together and pulls off a big win over Ryle next week! Boone would be a force if they ran the spread they also have some big boys on there roster.

I don't think Thompson knows what the spread is. He only knows 2 things on offense: run the ball or throw it long. That's it.

The taking of the knee for an injury is not a rule, you do it out of respect.

The sad thing is SK players took a knee for the injured Boone player while the rest of the Boone players didn't. They must not teach to much sportsmanship over in Florence or Union. I seen a lot of cheap shots this week and last week on the field.

He did not get his helmet ripped off. He went helmet to helmet with the BC defender and that's when he decided to start a fight. that's why he got the flag thrown.

Thompson came out a half time and got out of the power eye that had worked the whole first half and went to a twin back field. Failed. Sk goes on a roll, Boone loses control of the clock. ??? does a coach for Boone even mention to the back that kept trying to run the ball 3 diffrent times from inside the 3 yard line when he catches the ball instead of lettig it go into th end zones so Boone didn't have to keep starting from inside the 7 yard line each time on SK kick offs in the second half. Then Boone is 4th a one on the 10 yard line, Oppenheimer just ran a 8 yard run, and Boone elects to punt the ball after Sk has been on big roll. Score was SK 34 and Boone 27 at that time. Boone is still in the game, muffed snap.1 yard kick, the rest is histoty. Sk on th 11 yard line going in, the rest is history. Sk deserves the win. What did Boone have to lose, go for the win, show coinfidence in your players, has to start at the top. The whole coaching staff needs to look at themselves and make the nesseary changes to give their team a chance. Don't keep blaming the offense, defense gave up the 42 points in th second half. I was at the top row on the SK side with my son watching the game and I watched Ryle kick the field goal in overtime on the Ryle side fun stuff pretty exciting game.

 

Yes it was an exciting game. Which suprises me, becasue I didn't know SK could lose to such bad competition from what you had said. Since we heard how the district no longer offers a challenge to them.

The score is so misleading it's not even funny. Boone came out the first half and completely dominated. Then they come out in the second half and go in the shot gun and try an option. Why? Million dollar question. Sk had no answer for Boone in the first half. They were stopped only once due to a missed field goal. Other than that they scored every time they had the ball. It was 27-20 or 27-27 early in the fourth and Boone faces a 4th and one on there own 20 yard line or something close to that. They eleted to punt. That in my mind was the game changer. The punt was blocked and Sk took advantage of a punt, int, and fumble late. Congrats on Sk on the win. They didn't give up an fought hard the whole way.

 

IMO - There isn't a coach anywhere on any level that is going to go for it in that situation. You have to punt the ball, let your defense try to make plays and force the opponent to go as far as possible for the score.

I was told that even coach Thompson admitted that not going for it was a mistake. It's more than just that one play that has been questioned.
