The key to the game was when SK put #71 on the Dline and left him out there.

I'm not sure why Boone thought they could cover Winkler with one receiver. He was wide open all night, every time he put a double move on the DB it resulted in a huge gain.

The whole atmosphere in Independence was "flat", I couldn't believe how small of a crowd was there for the opening kickoff. Boone pretty much just smacked SK in the mouth and continued to do so for much of the first half. Even when Oppenheimer was getting stopped he was grinding out five yards or more. Going into the half I couldn't believe how the Rebs were owning the LOS, and I didn't know what to expect when they came back on the field for the second half. I believe SK held the Rebels without a first down for every one of their drives in the second half, the biggest Rebel play being a long pass and catch by Cain that set up the last Boone score. I thought the lack of extra points was going to bite us in the rear, I never thought we would score forty-two point in the second half. Boone's backup long snapper had some issues, practically rolling two back to the punter. One of those punts went for a yard or two. Lawrence tossed for 300+, and ran for 120, he broke the all-time passing record tonight previously held by Justin Bishop. Winkler and Reilly both went over 100 yards receiving, Winkler becoming the all-time leader for receiving (season and career). Camels come to town next week to battle for a first round home game. SK better not sleep on the Camels.

The score is so misleading it's not even funny. Boone came out the first half and completely dominated. Then they come out in the second half and go in the shot gun and try an option. Why? Million dollar question. Sk had no answer for Boone in the first half. They were stopped only once due to a missed field goal. Other than that they scored every time they had the ball. It was 27-20 or 27-27 early in the fourth and Boone faces a 4th and one on there own 20 yard line or something close to that. They eleted to punt. That in my mind was the game changer. The punt was blocked and Sk took advantage of a punt, int, and fumble late. Congrats on Sk on the win. They didn't give up an fought hard the whole way.

That was around the eight minute mark, and the score was tied at 27, the ball resting inside their own 25. Would have been a gutsy move but you don't predict a one yard punt. Tonight was two different games in one, Boone was dominant in the first half, I didn't think they would be able to punish SK but they did. SK had no emotion, but once they got rolling, they were dominant. As good as Boone was in the first half, SK was even better in the last 14 minutes of play. 253 yards in less than a quarter of play is strong. Oppenheimer is a very nice player, a load to bring down.

Kinda makes you wonder how much he was over looked last year with Miles in the back field. IMHO I think that's why Lawrence was able to make it a game without Miles last year against St. X.
