I don't like the fact that school won't be in session. Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't the Boone game in '08 on a Friday when school was out of session?

My old coach hated it as well. He felt it got the team out of it's natural rhythm of getting up at a normal time.

Is the poll this close because Elliot's out this week(or speculated to be out this week, is it final that he's not playing?)? If Ryle were at full strength would that change the poll count to be more in favor of Ryle?

Not sure if anyone could go back and check?? But I think before Elliot got hurt Ryle was getting around 65% of the votes. I just voted yesterday for SK. If Elliot was playing I would have voted for Ryle.

A more plausible scenario is that ukfan and myself have had more of an influence on the results than Elliot's injury...We tend to get under people's skin:jump:

I myself, check out what you two post, is more just to get a good laugh. Don't get me wrong, I have picked SK to win this game. But what you and ukfan have done has made the rest of the people on BGP think is that SK fans have no class and have no clue what they are talking about. You have given SK a black eye. Its a shame. SK has tons of Great fans, I go to many of their games. And the program has gone from the bottom of 6A in NKY to the top. I think the rest of the SK fans, players and coaches would like is for you two to do, is keep quit. Or at least show a little class and respect.

I'm not voting until I see the captains at midfield..........Elliot makes the difference, I believe. Having Travis in the ballgame will let the SK defense know where the ball is on 90% of the plays. His absence opens up the field more for the other Ryle playmakers. In the same sense, Lawrence will have the ball in his hands (with the exception of the 8-10 passes he throws), making it easy for the Ryle defense to find the ball. SK has NO run game besides Chad.

I give credit too good teams and good players...I know SK isnt a powerhouse team all i've ever said is they have went from cellar dwellers to a top notch team in nky...I've also stated my opinion on Sk's new facilities and recent success and said that they are potentially building a powerhouse, however optimism isn't allowed on this site...If your team isn't named Highlands, Trinity, St X or a few others and hasn't already established a top notch program than your team isn't allowed to use their recent success and resources too build something that only few teams have...

They really don't need one. The Lawrence kid will present lots of headaches for Ryle's D. With Elliott out, I don't see any offensive players from Ryle presenting lots of headaches for SK's D. He is fun to watch, unless he's playing against your team.

Why can't you stand SK? This is directed toward the Highlands fan that said he/she was going to dress up in

orange and black Raider gear to support Ryle instead of SK.

Blue and White, since SK is no longer a chew toy for nky and a legit team fans from other teams have been talking more about SK than their own team...The truth is the other nky schools with the exception of Highlands can no longer see SK on their schedule and see an easy W...In conclusion you now see more SK topics in the football forum than any other team...Why is this you might wonder? I myself have thought about it, maybe it's me supporting my team, maybe its ukfans off the wall comments or it could be envy or fear that SK isn't a cupcake no longer...Either way you put it it's fairly obvious the past two years of success at SK has created much hatrid towards SK...Now imagine if SK does continue its recent success In Nky, O boy it will be some good ol' smack talking and SK will be the game circled on every ones schedule.

I think you are getting a bit carried away with some recent success. Last year you had a RB talent that comes along in a 10 year cycle, and had an outstanding QB in Lawrence. This year, your RB is gone but you still have Lawrence who is a senior stud. The SK program will revert to midpack mediocrity after this season. Enjoy the run, remember one thing..........you are in a public school system. You will NEVER build a dynasty, it's just that simple. Public schools have nice 2-3 year runs with a good crop of players, and then usually revert to mediocrity. Thats just the way it is. Keep cheering for your team this year, the run ends after this season. Just hope you can handle the roller coaster ride.

I don't think it's "haters", I think people want to see SK do it more than 1-2 years before they start making claims of being a powerhouse or "NKY 6A is not challenging anymore".

 

SK's current success is great for NKY football. Just keep it going. Some fans are acting like they're kings of the hill and will be for years to come. 1-2 yrs does not equate to sustained success.
