September 29, 201015 yr Author Do we have any different opinions on Dusty yet? Of course he doesn't make all the right decisions, no manager does. However, getting guys to play for you from start to finish is just as big. Ask Peta Tony. I stated earlier in the year that I had to give Dusty credit for the job he has done this year. I have certainly questioned many of his moves, but the man got a job done that hadn't been done since 1995. Kudos to Dusty.

September 29, 201015 yr I'm not a fan of Dusty at all, but he has get some credit for this. Wouldn't shock me at all if he left to manage the Dodgers next year, but that's next year. No one will give them a chance against either the Phillies or Giants, but who cares, they finally ended the streak and maybe they can surprise a few people in the 1st Round.

I still don't think that Dusty is more than an average manger when it comes to making split decision moves but obviously he is a very good people person and that apparently goes a long way with this team. As I have stated before he must be well liked by most of the players because everyone that gets interviewed says the same thing about the man. With that said he does deserve a lot of credit for doing something that no other Red's manager has been able to do for the last 15 years. I would also go along with what Castellini said last night in that Dusty has a good coaching staff working with him and management is certainly doing their part in getting the players he needs to be successful. Here's hoping Dusty can make the right moves in the playoffs and really surprise all MLB fans worldwide. Go Reds, let's pull off another 1990 upset surprise!!!
September 30, 201015 yr Author I know it's going to be tough for the Reds to overtake the Giants for the 2nd best record in the NL since they basically have a 2 game lead over the Reds with only 5 games left. I'm more than ok with that though, because to be honest with you after thinking more and more about it, I would rather play the Phillies the 1st round, than for the Reds to have to go out west, and open up in San Francisco. I know the Reds would be facing Halliday, Hamels and Oswalt, but facing Lincecum, and Cain in San Francisco would be just as hard, if not harder.
