Boyle and Bell as well as Lex Cath are all capable on any given year of beating Highlands. They have done it in the past and could do it again. I would love to see all of these schools in the same class. 4A could end up the most exciting class in the state.

5 a next year will be an absolute joke.4a is better for the program because there might actually be competition.

Let's face it, unless you are playing in 6A, all of the classes are weak. Having 6 classes just waters down the classes and they are all a joke. Bring it back to 4 and let's see some more competitive football.

I can't see how going from 5A to 4A will have a negative impact on HHS. The only thing I can think of is that at a national level (i.e., for the purposes of being nationally recognized and ranked), it may "look" less impressive to win 4A than 5A, given that 4A is a smaller school class. However, given some of the teams in 4A, it may actually be a bit harder to win 4A than 5A, as some posters have already mentioned.

I am quite sure this statement is factually inaccurate. Do you really think that the KHSAA would allow Highlands to play in any class they desire? What if Highlands wanted to play in 1A... would the KHSAA allow that?

It surprises me that Bell would not petition to say in 4A. They have an up and coming Knox Central along with Rockcastle Co. in their district, seems to me that is where they would want to stay instead of having to make the long bus trips to most of the 3A schools that will probably be in their new district.
