Dixie Heights 41 Conner 26

Featured Replies

Pike had 147 rushing and 145 passing.

Conner's Cy Smith was 26/36 377 yards.

377 has to be close to the school record.

Thought Smith played well, and had some success with the deep ball late in the game. The big play was the pick he threw right before halftime which enabled Dixie to lead 20-6 vs. 13-6 at half. It came right after a Pike fumble I believe. He will continue to improve.

Nice effort by Smith, what are his measurements? I've been trying to find how many yards West had in the 2008 playoff game vs SK without any success. He had a bunch that night.

No "history" that I'm aware of. Spritzky and Stellman seemed to be friends.

Herein may be your answer?

I'm not sure of the record but I always thought Stellman may have had better numbers than West at QB as he went undefeated back to back years in the regular season I believe.

I agree and was impressed with Fogle also....Smith was able to rack up a few extra yards late when Dixie subbed but was still very impressive.

Always hate to see Coach Tros and his boys take a loss but congrats to Dixie on the win.

Sounds like they really came to play last night.

Never mind. I see that Nick West had about 450 yards passing against Manual last year.

Conner looks like they will have to battle to make the playoffs.

I realize that Pike is a Junior this year but how many of the current Dixie starters are Seniors?

Congrats to Tom for his 100th Win.

My take was this. Pike got pulled, and Smith from Conner stayed in the game and Conner was running their hurry up, no huddle offense. I believe that Spritzky was expecting Trosper to pull Smith as well. When that did not happen, Pike was inserted back into the ball game. I could be wrong, but that is the way I saw it. Btw, Pike is a load to bring down when he is running the ball. Just needs to take better care of the football when rushing the ball. Good game by Dixie tonight. Way to many penalties for Conner to compete in this ballgame.

I can think of a lot of reasons to re-insert your starter, but to do so as retaliation because you felt the other team - who was behind in the game and still trying to pull off a miracle - should have pulled their starting QB is silly. I understand you're only speculating, but I would imagine a fair number of Dixie fans hope you're wrong about this and Dixie's coach had a slightly better reason to risk his QB that late in the game.

What year is Conner's starting QB? It would seem he's going to be a very good one.

Senior.

Next year, most likely, they will go with a sophomore.

Running your #1 weapon instead of taking a knee with a 15 point lead on the last play would be what exactly?
