Boone County 17 Scott County 6

I still give them 3 or 4 wins this year. Although they are 2-0 I am sure they will lose to a team they should beat. I'm still not impressed, when the season is over look back at how Henry Clay and Scoot Co. finished up. To me, the measuring stick is here in NKY, how did you compete against teams in your area.

Have you not followed big school football for long, becuase in 6A how you play against NKY teams generally doesn't mean anything other than, you made the playoffs. I guess if your teams only goal is to make the playoffs then that is an ok measuring stick. If not, then you're really selling your team short if that's also what they think the measuring stick is.

Very happy Boone beat Scott County and their awesome coach.

Boone's defence did it's job again. It held the Cardinals 3 times in the red zone for no points and giving the offence the ball back to score and time to run the clock down so Scott County with no timeouts left and very little time to mount a drive to score. This group played amazing. There's quote from a movie, " Winners always want the ball when the game is on the line." Well, this defence wanted the ball and got it for the offence.

Congrats to the whole Boone County football team. Keep it up boys.

I don't know about you, but I would like to have a winning record as a coach or an athletic director. If a coach is only satisfied with winng 3 or 4 games a year and then getting blown out in the first round of the playoffs then I would think you are selling your team short.....Where I', from just making it to the first round of the playoffs wasn't enough....

Any JOpp stats ?

Im not sure on how many yards he had? They were sending three linebackers where ever he went! The Stuck kid mad some big plays for the Rebels!!! Defense looked great!

This is from Lexington Herald Leader website:

Boone County 17, Scott County 6: The host Cardinals found the red zone three times but couldn’t find the end zone any of those times and fell to 0-2.

Bryson Thompson’s 1-yard scoring run in the second quarter and Mauricio Moreno’s extra point put the Rebels up for good. Moreno also had a 32-yard field goal to end the half.

Drew Stuck, who scored on a 10-yard run, had 119 yards on the ground. He also caught two passes for 65 yards.

Scott County had 196 rushing yards on the ground, but managed only 11 passing yards.

Considering they already have 2 wins over some talented competition, you should rethink your probability. This boone team has more rounded talent this year that wants to win and they are definitely playing better than last. I'm guessing that you have not seen them play and you're making a blind judgement, but that's your assumption that you're allowed. We'll just have to wait and see how correct you are.

Yeah, you may be right..I will give them 5 games at the most when looking at their schedule... I watched them play several times last year and it was really boring . I haven't had a chance to see them this year.

SEPT. 10 ANDERSON L

SEPT. 17 HIGHLANDS L

SEPT. 24 AT CAMPBELL CO. ?

OCT. 1 CONNER ?

OCT. 8 AT COOPER W

OCT. 15 AT SIMON KENTON L

OCT. 22 RYLE L

OCT. 29 DIXIE ?

Then I dont see how you can even judge them if you havent seen them play yet!!! Therir defense is fast and flys to the ball the have a pretty nice power O!!! Boone comes out with a winning record thats all im sayin.. The Rebels seem to be pretty talented to beat two teams at that level.

Boone will not loose to Sk. Sk isn't the team they were last year and Lawrence can't do it with no o-line. Sk is back to the 5-5 4-6 years as always. Anderson isn't near the same team as last year also. I can see Boone beating them friday. Highlands and Ryle i can see were your coming from but when Ryle comes to Boone County on Oct. 22 and Boone is 7-1 or 6-2 with a lot of momentum Ryle better watch out. Campbell Conner Cooper and Dixie are no match for BC whatsoever.

Anderson will beat Boone easily. Ryle will beat Boone easily. Then to say that Campbell, Conner, Cooper, and Dixie are no match whatsoever... Well you better just get the crow ready.
