Not sure I am crazy about either ticket..........

I personally think both tickets stink to high heavens. But if I'm forced between the two there is absolutely no way I can vote for a ticket with David Williams on it.

I don't follow state politics much, so I don't know a lot about Williams. But why all the venom against him?

I'm not sure its that simplistic. I'm not sure many on either side of the aisle are real thrilled with Williams.

I'm 100% not voting for that ticket because of Williams. I don't have any real opinion about Farmer, other than that I know NOTHING about Farmer. Well, I hear he played some sport down the road....basketball maybe? :lol:

 

I'm willing to hear what Farmer has achieved and what he can do going forward to help the state of Kentucky. But Williams, I know what he stands for. And I know all I need to know about him. I can't count the number of times my jaw has hit the floor when I found out how he voted for certain pieces of legislation or heard or read comments he's made. I think I may be on the brink of ceasing to be amazed by him. But, I've thought that before.

Any examples? I honestly don't know much about him other then I really didn't care for the way he handled the gambling issue.

What are you wanting to know? That he's been the chief obstructionist in Kentucky government for more than a decade?

Again, you've told me absolutley nothing about him, other than you despise him...What are his positions on issues?

I despise him because he's trying to actively destroy the horse racing industry, and because he is always the roadblock for a budget getting passed, leading to expensive special sessions and, essentially, nothing getting done by the General Assembly. If you want his positions, he's got a long voting record to which you can reference.

He has derailed any attempted legislation to allow casinos or expanded gambling at KY horse tracks. Keeping in mind they are available in IN, WV, TN, MO and soon to be OH. He has also prevented this issue from being on a statewide ballot because his district is very religous, small and does not approve. So he's hurting the KY budget and probably our best known industry by standing in a way of an issue that most Kentuckians approve of.

So far we have some talking points but no real examples. If most here hate him because of the way he handled the gaming issue fine but I have to believe there is more to it then that. And to say he is the reason a budget never gets past is nothing more then a blame game.

Let's not forget he was involved in the "Sin Tax" hike last year for Alcohol and Tobacco.
