Dale gets the boys motivated they two platoon make position changes for the team, it takes a good staff and an excellent program to have kids buy in to this. He is an excellent motivator and his passion is contagious. Absolutely the kids come into the program with a certain skill set but he has passion for the game and it shows. I was sitting in the stand at the frosh game with a group of campbell county folks and their parents thought it was really neat to see the varsity coach involved and concerned about an injury to a young CC player.

I was hoping you would respond this way. Take a look at your initial post on this subject... you asked if Coach Mueller's lack of titles in Ohio was evidence of Ohio football being better (than KY's). Judging from some of your other posts, it seems clear you believe this to be the case. So, going by this logic, I guess Wooden's lack of titles in KY prep basketball is evidence that KY prep basketball is better than NCAA basketball, since Wooden had no problems racking up NCAA titles, just as Mueller has had no problems winning KY football titles.

 

Then, I guess it's fair to say that Mueller is to KY prep football what Wooden was to NCAA basketball. I'll take that.

If you read all of my posts, actually I am quite complimentary to Highlands and Coach Mueller. Except for that pesky issue of not scheduling the best schools in Kentucky.

It is the fans that I take issue with. Alot like UK hoops fans.

Probably better to start your own thread on this topic than have it in the Beechwood/Highlands prediction thread.

OK, I had to at least get Beechwood to double digits in votes on here and I have to support the boys who are all working hard and believing. Go Tigers!! Surprise the state tonight!!

Loved the attitude they expressed in the paper this morning. It's the attitude that has seen these teams going to state together on several occasions. They expect to win tonight. "We are Beechwood, and we are going to win." Gotta love that! :thumb:

And I assure you they do believe they are going to win tonight. You have to believe to achieve! And why not? Half the team has already won a game at Highlands. Not many players can say that walking into that stadium.

Last week Ryan Ernst reported that the HHS-BW game may be shown live on the USA Today's website... any word on whether this is the case?

They said the same thing about last week's game. I don't know who keeps spreading that rumor, but don't believe it.

With regard to this game, the timing of it could be important. HHS is coming off a game, many thought would be "the game" for ending the Bluebirds' win streak. Next week, HHS has their first away game, against a team (Boone County) that surprised a lot of people with their huge win over highly ranked Henry Clay last week. About everybody is saying this game's outcome is all but decided. Could the BW players maybe use this as extra motivation, and could the HHS players maybe believe what is being said about this game being a slam dunk and be looking ahead to next week? I realize it's a long shot, but you never know! It's hard for a team to play with full effort every single week of a long season, no?

Beechwood needs to find a QB and fast.
