Wow, I'm thinking it may be best for Ryle to not even show up Friday night!!! It doesn't seem as though they have a chance!!! Towels can throw for 300 yards and 3 TD's every Friday or could just throw 5 passes against Ryle and still win.... That's pretty impressive!!!!

 

I don't know a lot about Highlands this year, however, I can't believe they are better than last years team, but, perhaps they are!!!

 

I guess Ryle should just be hoping not to get embarrassed this weekend in Ft. Thomas since it seems they have no chance!

Anyway, what is the ticket situation for Friday? Can you get presale tickets at Highlands? Ryle? Are they cheaper than purchasing at the gate? Any chance of a sellout? Any good tailgating places that would welcome some Ryle fans? At the end of the day, it's a high school football game...

Ryle has a nice program, and IMO I think they will win 6A up here. But even though Highlands dont have the team they had last year, its just different football. The Bluebirds passing attack will be to much for the Raiders. Travis Elliot is a heck of a runningback, but with no passing attack they are just to much of a one dimensional team. And if they could throw the ball good luck, I think the birds have everyone back in the secondary. no negatives, should be great football action. Good Luck Both Teams! HHS 44 R 10

Would someone please tell the folks that schedule games in Ft. Thomas to please be consistent with the start times....!? Every week it seems that fans are befuddled about the "7 or 7:30" dilemma. Please, for the love of all, schedule all games for 7:30 start times and be done with it. sheesh. High school football shouldn't need a ouija board to figure out.

I have asked about this and the answer I got is that many of the coaches in NKY like the 7:30 start time early in the season because of the possible heat. Really 30 minutes isn't that big of a deal. If you get there at 6:45 you won't miss a thing.

30 minutes might not mean much to you, but it does to those who may work late and 30 minutes at DCMS more than likely means 21 points on the board.:banana:

You need to get your priorities straight.

I know there is a middle school party before the game that ends at 7:30. So for this week I'm confident the 7:30 start time is legit.

I understand where you are coming from. I wish they'd consistently start the games at 7:30 like they used to. But evidently some school administrators in N. Ky thought the games were ending too late for students in attendance and participating. Personally I think the less time between after the end of the game and the kids' curfews the better! Plus as you pointed out, the later start would make it easier for fans that have to work late to make it to the game in time.

 

But I don't think game starts are going to go back to always starting at 7:30. Barring heat, the visiting team being from a considerable distance away or some pregame activities (I believe they'll be recognizing the 1960 state championship Highlands team before the start of the game) I think you'll see N. Ky games continue to start at 7. But the Highlands game this week is definitely starting at 7:30, which will allow qryche to spend a little extra time at 915 and still make it to the game too late to buy a ticket and see the start of the game. Maybe the problem with qryche isn't the starting time of the game or the one window ticket sales, but with spending too much time at 915. :thumb: What do you think qryche?

As you and I talked about, don't go to the Swim Club or Kroger's, check around the Church and parking lot, there will probably be a few gatherings. Or you can go to 915 at your own risk.

Good stff LN. Last week was a blur but only because i stopped at the Rookwood Pub for a couple Bourbon Ale's right after work and hooked up with a guy whose name rhymes with Jones. This week my plan is to be focused' however I am playing 18 holes on Friday afternoon so we shall see. Looking forward to the Titanic struggle on the field.
