From tackle to tackle. The one we call tiny is 5' 10" 300lbs. The rest are bigger. The tight ends are 6' 3" 215lbs and 6'1" 205lbs. Henry county is just big boned compared to Mercer.

Russell's biggest lineman is "Bubba" Jones. He stands 5'5" and weighs 137 lbs. It looks like our boys in the eastern end of the state just don't grow as large as yours do, but I'm still taking Russell. Anyone see a theme here?

Like you, Garrardgnat, I won't be in attendance (but I will listen in on the internet). At any rate, I hope that everyone takes all of this pregame banter as nothing more than good natured kidding. What is said on this board will have absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with the final outcome.

What a really nice sports complex to play at. Look for Mercer County in an upset, because Russell is looking ahead to travel to Newport next week. M-28 R-20

Russell's not looking ahead and I believe Newport has another tough game before they can host next week anyway. What I have seen on film is a big line, not the most mobile though. Much like Henry County in that respect. I fully expect a hard fought contest that goes to Russell. The team is confident in their abilities and they know what they have to do to get to the next game. They have been through this whole process many times now and when you have that experience, it makes a difference. Comparing common opponents, which gives a bit of insight to how the game plays out, the Red Devils certainly seem to have the edge. Don't look for that to change...

Have you seen Mercer play? If not don't say Russell has more talent. We want you to keep thinking that so we can come to your place and show you what can of talent Mercer has. This team not only has talent they have heart and perseverance and we all know where that can take you. Then you add good coaching and you will see where all this will take this Mercer team.

 

I expect it to take them back home to roll out the basketballs after Friday...

I think that was 1 bad game. We ran the ball well against Fleming, East Carter, Morgan and Ashland. I think we can get the job done against any team out there. But we'll see this friday.

I believe I read that same quote about your team. Of course Russell consistantly ran the ball on that team, so you must think that your team is not very good.

So are you saying Boyd was the only good team Russell played this year?

 

And I believe the Devils did have some success running against BC going for 166 yards on 36 carries. Too many TO's and poor defensive play combined with a superior effort by the Lions cost Russell in that one.
