Dickerson still didn't get called up. :D

Doesn't make a lot of sense. I wish someone on the broadcast crew could shed some light on this.

Nice pitching performance by the Reds tonight. Hope Votto and Cabrera don't need extended time to heal. This offense is not good enough right now to lose both of them for more than a couple of games.

I agree, although having guys that have been performing the way Cairo and Hernandez have on the bench makes it managable for short stretches. That's a pretty nice luxury to have.

Anyone think that could have something to do with Heisey getting the past couple starts out in CF? Stubbs is struggling so they can give him a couple days off, and get to see what Heisey can do when he strings a couple starts together, and see if they should send him or Stubbs down.

Might be smart to get Janish a couple of starts, especially with Cabrera tweaking is back a little.

At this point I don't see anyway they can justify sending Heisey down.

Absolutely no way they can send him down. He's their best pinch hitter. Besides a great replacement, as he showed tonight. And I'm not so sure he couldn't be a solid everyday player.

I like Paul. He is as slick as slick can be in the field and can hit a little as well. Not a bad guy to run in there on occassion.

Is it just me or does it seem like Bruce gets a fantastic jump on almost every ball hit that way?
He sees the ball better from RF than from the batter's box.

Janish can't hit at all.

Astros have taken a 5-4 lead over the Cards with 3 runs in the 8th, and they still have the bases loaded with only 1 out.

Quintero just grounded into a double play. 5-4 heading to the bottom of 8. Come on Houston bullpen.

Had a 4 hit game earlier in the year.

And a career average just over .200.

When Volquez is your 5th best starter you have a chance to win a ton of games.
