I think this has been discused before and I'm trying to go off memory. I think Al Gore got 95% and John Kerry got 93% of the black vote during their presidential elections. So does that mean that blacks voted for both of them because they were white?

 

Also since my oldest son voted for John McCain does that mean he should turn in his membership card because he didn't vote for Obama?

 

I think Obama only got 90% of the black vote.

As I said I was trying to go from memory. You should check out my subsquent post where I posted the voting numbers from every election since 1980. Kerry got 88% Obama got 95%. So really it wasn't that much of a difference when you see that Gore got 90% and Mondale got 91%. It just shows that a majority of black people will vote for the demcratic candidate.

Read where the NAACP passed a resolution today condemning rampant racism within the Tea Party.

So two years ago did the NAACP condemn New Black Panther Party for blatant (and video taped rather then just accused) racism. Does the fact that it happened two years ago excuse it?

I don't think it's a joke. I think it is a scare tatic. The same one they (whoever they are) say Obama is using.

Has there been a group of people like the "Tea Party" ever? In other words has there ever been a group of people spend so much time, energy, and money over the term of one President, attacking every thing he says or does?

 

What I like about the Republican Party is they (main core) have distanced themselves from the Tea Party, but yet are encouraged that someone as stupid as Palin gets to attack the President or a better term is gets to campaign every day against the President. But when it comes to election year the Republicnas know deep down inside that can't use Sarah Palin on the ticket. I think it is brilliant move by the Republicans.

 

The Tea Party reminds me of the kid in the neighborhood that is a sore looser, when he gets his butt whipped by someone who he thinks is inferior he wants to try and pick a fight. He has to fight to save his status amoung the rest of the neighborhood kids instead of saying good game and wait for the next time to play.

 

Bottom line is the Tea Party should be mad that they couldn't put together a better ticket and forced the Maverick to ride a JACK-butt instead of a stallion.

I am not a Tea Party guy, but I believe the Tea Party has been brewing (no pun intended) for some time over the absurdity of Washington. It has waited for a Democratic president to take office and Obama is the guy. It would be in existence had Hillary won, imo.

I never really took it serious until the Obama staff started to harp on it every day. It is like rivalries in sports. One never exists until the other side wins a game. Had they just ignored them, it may have just gone away. But on many levels, I do not feel the Democrats want the Tea Party to go away because they are able to gleefully label them (and indirectly Republicans) racists and it keeps Palin in the newspapers. I think it is a brilliant move by the Democrats.

Thanks for the stats nWo...about what I thought, and although you and others may say it is understandable that blacks vote for Obama to that degree-that is a sizable percentage when moved into real numbers equals millions of people. Not looking to hijacking the thread, but what have the democrats done for the African Americabn community that has HELPED them in the long wrong. In my opinion-not much, but they sure do promise alot, and that seems to be enouigh.

I don't think it is a smart move. The NAACP boss was trying to tie it altogether and just didn't make any sense. I guess they are trying to keep their minority coalition together, but am surprised that some can't see through it.

 

Now Jesse Jackson IS a racist. I don't think Rev. Al is that way anymore. i think he has reformed a bit.
