Conner QB Cy Smith looked very good this morning against Dixie. 5 TD's against 1 pick. Very efficient and nice zip on his passes.

How'd Boone County do today against BW?

 

Not good, from what I hear. Thompson threw a lot of INT's (3 or 4?). But as you well know, Boone County has not been a passing team in the past so 7 on 7's are not their thing.

Are you speaking from pure speculation or from someone who was at the 7 on 7? Boone has been throwing three different qb's this week and I was told earlier they did fairly well in the 7 on 7 against BW. Just curious about where you got your information.

Schwartz has been throwing all week along with Thompson and another younger qb.

VOR's source is definitely pro Beechwood. He had them almost tying Highlands which wasnt the case and handling Boone County which also sounds like it wasnt the case either. Im calling out your source VOR, not you specifically.

Smith was very impressive a the CovCath scrimmage. He has a very quick release and seems to have nice touch on his passes.

 

Might be a bit much saying they "handled" CovCath. CovCath always started from the 40 yd line, while Conner advanced the ball. Both teams substituted at will, so not sure how you judge that type of scrimmage.

 

I was impressed with Smith though, I expect him to have a very nice year.

Fair enough. Nearly all my sources are pro Beechwood so they may be viewing through red colored glasses. And they are not paying as close attention to the opponents as they are to the Tigers. But I heard from more than one person that Boone's QB threw several INT's. Can someone that was there refute that and or correct the info? It could be the Boone County fans are also looking through things from their side when they say Boone "did pretty well". Highlands 1's versus BW 1's in the last half of the workout was a much closer battle than what happened in the first hour of that workout. Several people have told me that is true. I don't think my sources are that far off. Highlands beat BW, BW and Dixie were fairly even with the edge to BW and BW got the better of Boone. I could just not post second hand info if everyone would prefer that?

I was told by a CCH guy that both of Conner's qb's (senior and the freshman) both looked good. Good to have two good qb's.

Oppenheimer and Doyle led the team in touchdowns with 3 and 2 a piece. Trevan Brown i believe also had a touchdown on top of the other recievers 3 touchdowns. I believe their defense held Bw to only 2 td's. Boone had 4 picks on defense. I don't know where you got the information about Thompson throwing 3 or 4 picks.

BW had more than 2 td's. I believe their 1's scored 3 or 4 with one pick. The last 2 series for the tigers were taken by the freshman team. Boone also had maybe 3 picks while rotating QB's every few series. Their offense looked good today though. They seemed to get better as the day went on scoring on a few longer passes. Overall i'd say it was about even with a slight edge to BW if any.
