Fair enough. Nearly all my sources are pro Beechwood so they may be viewing through red colored glasses. And they are not paying as close attention to the opponents as they are to the Tigers. But I heard from more than one person that Boone's QB threw several INT's. Can someone that was there refute that and or correct the info? It could be the Boone County fans are also looking through things from their side when they say Boone "did pretty well". Highlands 1's versus BW 1's in the last half of the workout was a much closer battle than what happened in the first hour of that workout. Several people have told me that is true. I don't think my sources are that far off. Highlands beat BW, BW and Dixie were fairly even with the edge to BW and BW got the better of Boone. I could just not post second hand info if everyone would prefer that?

From what i've heard Boone handled Bw very well today and Thompson only through one int. Shwartz and the other young Qb got many reps and looked decent. Oppenheimer and Doyle led the team in touchdowns with 3 and 2 a piece. Trevan Brown i believe also had a touchdown on top of the other recievers 3 touchdowns. I believe their defense held Bw to only 2 td's. Boone had 4 picks on defense. I don't know where you got the information about Thompson throwing 3 or 4 picks.

IMO Boone suprised me quite a bit when I was there just my opinion though... Offense and defense both played well, I only saw thompson through one int..

Your right.. Only 4 or 5 players told me the exact same thing so i don't know what i'm talkin about. But hey if Boone even plays somewhat good with a passing tournament thats a huge plus because they will be great with the run all year.

I agree that we are making too much of the 7 on 7's and who did what. From the posts about Boone Co. above, it is clear my sources aren't necessarily right or wrong - people just watch and see things differently. And no one is really keeping score so even that isn't clear. One person's close battle is another persons easy victory, it's just personal opinion. My main concern is I didn't want to post bad info on here. I don't mind posting info just to give posters someone's view of what happened but I am not looking to get into debates about 7 on 7's. As the infamous quote goes ... "I mean listen, we’re sitting here talking about practice, not a game, not a game, not a game, but we’re talking about practice. Not the game that I go out there and die for and play every game like it’s my last but we’re talking about practice man. How silly is that?".

Yes people are making too much about 7s. You can see some things but success in the 7s is often in the eyes of the beholder; there are numerous substitutions on going; the score is meaningless and it's used as a training tool. I heard Mueller tell one of the Highlands QBs (I think it was McCoy) to go ahead and try the long pass (after the QB had dumped the ball short for a completion) noting that he won't get better throwing the long ball into tight coverage if he doesn't attempt to do it. He told the QB that's what 7s are for. Mueller doesn't care (and my guess most other coaches don't care) who wins the 7s; he just wants them to be used to improve skills.

my favorite part of 7 on 7 is getting your younger kids a look of what varsity football looks like as far as more speed, quicker pace...etc. Other than that i'm with everyone else in that it doesn't mean much.

 

With that being said Cooper will host a 7 on 7 against NewCath this Tuesday, the 20th around 9:00 or 9:30 in the morning

I heard that SK has Highlands @ HHS on Wed at 9 a.m. The more reps the Birds have against one of the top teams in the state......the better they will be. Hope the Birds are able to Keep this one close!!!!:thumb:
