I love Cats passion. I love the fact that he won't sacrifice what he wants or expects from his favorite player. I admire his ability to not be blindly loyal to LeBron. As a Kobe guy I wouldn't want to see Kobe go to the Spurs to play with Timmy. Timmy can come to LA though.

Which player that you named chased a championship like LeBron is doing? Artest? And who cares about him as far as the history of basketball is concerned. Chasing after a championship is what washed up, old, should-be-retired basketball players do. Malone, Gary Payton, Rasheed Wallace, Shaq not a guy that has just entered his prime.

 

There is also IMO a difference between winning a championship and this crap. The Heat will win a title in the near future with these guys.:puke:

If you were still simply a Lebron fan like myself you would be pretty happy right now, I know I am, just hoping he doesn't go back to Cleveland and get sucked dry. I'm okay with the Miami thing, In a way though I would love to see him go to New York and then they work the sign and trade with Lee to bring in Monte Ellis at point, maybe a Mike Miller at the two, then Lebron, Al Harrington, and Amare. But Miami will work. So would Chicago, just anywhere but Cleveland, a place he will never get more than past their prime and average NBA guys.

Okay, whatever SSC. I get sick and tired of arguing with you. If you're a LeBron fan and you think it's a good idea to become a total sell out and go to the easiest place to win a title is that is your right. I personally don't. As much time and money as I've spent watching LeBron and the Cavs over the years and as bad as it's been to watch them get knocked out of the playoffs every year, I'll personally be disappointed to see him get a championship with a loaded team in the future that isn't the Cavs.

 

Maybe you're not a real LeBron fan and obviously aren't a Cavs fan, but I think that winning one there would have been so much more enjoyable for me on a personal level, as a very long-term fan of his. With as much crap as I've taken on here over the last few years, I'm not pumped about any of this garbage that has went on. And BTW almost everything you say cracks me up, but I try to keep it to myself. :walk:

Kobe did this exact thing he even had Jim Gray involved. Do people forget he "almost signed" with the Clippers? He had I. Thomas meet him to give him a pitch about the Knicks. He opted out of a deal to get a bigger and longer one. He demanded a trade, then when the Bulls wanted to do it he demanded that Deng not be involved in that trade. Guess what Kobe fans have his back. You have the Cavs back. You for personal reasons want him to stay in Cleveland. He's a free agent that needs to decide what he wants. Not what CCC wants. When he averages 22/12/11 we'll see if people call him a sell out. He can't win titles in Cleveland in the next 3 years. He is trying to win titles and that's his right as a free agent. He has the power now. Not his owner or the NBA. Good for him. As Cowherd said this morning isn't that what we all strive for? To have the power over our employer? To be wanted that bad is great. God for him as a person and as a player. The reason the league is so messed up is the Owners are mostly dumb. Is there a rule book that says he can't still go to NY, Brooklyn, or even Cleveland in a few years when they have the cap space and a roster that can win titles?

That is what is scary about it if you are looking form a legendary standpoint. Does he still have a shot of being the all time best, when one may argue he is not the best on his own team?

That is true, but think about how many of those guys went on to have further success in the league. Stephen Jackson had a great season last year, Artest was perhaps Finals savior, Al Harrington has continued to play quality ball. I wonder where the Pacers would be at right now if they would have kept that team together, but let Artest go, bring in Granger the same way they have, and also maybe find a point guard. But of course it is just a what if. It's like all the guys they let go of after that ended up flourishing still (apart from O'neal) but the franchise plummeted.
