June 17, 201016 yr I agree, I have not ever been a soccer fan, but I honestly tried to watch a match and got a headache from that noice. I didn't even know what it was at the time, it was just constant. Same here. Simply terrible, they have to do something to filter that out or stop it.
June 17, 201016 yr In my opinion a lot of people are way too easily annoyed. I don't think I could ever let anything that did not have anything to do directly with what I was trying to get into get in my way from trying to enjoy it. Meaning, if I was trying to watch a sport that I had not given that much mind too, I don't think there would be anyway I could let anything that did not have anything to do with that sport effect my feelings on it. I mean really, if your watching the game you shouldn't be paying that much attention to the vuvuzelas anyway.
June 17, 201016 yr But if theres one thing I've learned about life, it is that people will complain about anything.

Would you enjoy watching a Basketball, Football, or Baseball match if it had that same noise 24/7?
June 17, 201016 yr Dude, it is a discussion board, with out the discussion there is no board. Whining about soccer and horns isn't a discussion.
June 17, 201016 yr How can you not hear them? Would you enjoy watching a Basketball, Football, or Baseball match if it had that same noise 24/7? I don't really think there is much difference between the horns and the constants "Beat LA" chants during the Finals in Boston. During the NBA playoff games there is a constant buzz throughout the crowd the whole game, it just doesn't annoy people as much because they enjoy the game of basketball more than they do soccer.
June 17, 201016 yr The best part about the World Cup...if you don't want to watch it, you don't have too! For everyone who gets annoyed don't watch it. These threads are getting old and its only been a week. The sad part is a lot of people who really want to watch the World Cup aren't because of those horns. Count me (and the rest of my family) as one of them. I watched the US/England match on mute except for about the last five minutes. But that was because it was the US. Any thoughts I had of watching more went away within the first 2 minutes of the US match after those horns kept blowing. I will watch the US and probably try to watch the semi finals even if the US isn't in it but rest assured the TV will be on mute.
June 17, 201016 yr I guess I am in the minority, but I honestly really don't notice them at all. It's a shame that people really allow the horns to affect whether they watch it or not.
June 17, 201016 yr One of the things that is so annoying about them is the horn blowing has absolutely nothing to do with the action on the field. They blow them when the game is going. They blow them when the game is stopped for injury. They blow them at half time. They never stop blowing them and it has nothing to do with the game. That makes them even more annoying.
June 17, 201016 yr You know, I didn't even notice to noise today. The constant noise makes it easy to tune it out.

June 17, 201016 yr How can you not hear them? Would you enjoy watching a Basketball, Football, or Baseball match if it had that same noise 24/7? I agree that they are a bit annoying but I have tuned them out. It is not much different than the stupid thundersticks that were banged together at NBA games for a couple of seasons.

June 18, 201016 yr How can you not hear them? Would you enjoy watching a Basketball, Football, or Baseball match if it had that same noise 24/7? Yeah because I'm watching it for the game regardless of what kind of noise is present. Like I said earlier, I have no idea how someone could let crowd noise effect whether or not they would watch a game, because just from a standpoint of the game itself and what goes on the field none of that matters. Not saying it doesn't effect the players or anything like that I'm just saying you are supposed to be watching it because of the game not because or because not of the noise. I think a lot of people are just looking for an excuse not to watch the world cup, but still act like they gave it a fair shot. That is okay too, but I really do find the vuvuzela argument comical when it comes to people not actually watching what goes on on the pitch because of the noise the crowd makes.
