June 18, 201016 yr Cheering is one thing....the sound of a thousand goats being slaughtered is completely different. This past Saturday and Sunday was unbearable. I will say that I turned it on tonight and it sounded like they must have turned down the crowd mics. That, or there weren't as many people at that game, but the noise of the vuvuzelas was definitely not as prominent as it had been on Saturday and Sunday.
June 18, 201016 yr I have it as well. Funny how everyone hates the Vuvuzela but it is ranked #3 on the top apps list at the Apple Store. Just because it's popular doesn't mean it's good. See: Brittney Spears; Milli Vanilli; Backstreet Boys; The Eagles, etc.
June 18, 201016 yr I agree about the V horns and I'm not a soccer fan, but anytime the U.S.A. plays in the World Cup I watch and cheer for them. The game on now, USA comes from a 0-2 deficit to 2-2 is exciting to watch.
June 18, 201016 yr Not to mention the U.S. was clearly robbed of a goal late that would have put them up 3-2.
June 18, 201016 yr I would equate the World Cup to the Olympics in the sense that as sports fans many of us tune in to cheer for our country against the world's best in the respective sport. I don't watch bobsledding or swimming except once every four years, the same is true for soccer. So while the horns are annoying, IMO they are a necessary nuisance to an otherwise enjoyable event.
June 18, 201016 yr I don't know about ya'll...but I certainly didn't notice those horns in the 2nd half today. I'm sure they were there but I didn't hear them lol.
June 18, 201016 yr Oh good are they going to tie again? I guess you don't understand how big of a deal it was for them to come back and get that tie...it is huge. I would give it the equivalent of a team coming back from down 30 in basketball in the second half to tie it up.

June 18, 201016 yr Two games and two draws and you think that is great................ok. A tie with England is certainly great for the USA, they were a huge under dog. I am not happy about a tie with Slovenia, but considering we were tied going into halftime...then yes a tie is great today as well.
June 18, 201016 yr I think all the games should end in a tie, then we can have a super duper 32 team shoot out.
June 18, 201016 yr Sorry, but until soccer eliminates ties I can never fully support it. Say I don't understand the game or what not...but I'd rather not understand it until there are winners and losers.

Like art or music or the woman walking down the street, everyone has a different opinion of what they find to be beautiful. I find the "Beautiful Game" to be beautiful, but there are a great many who disagree (as shown on this board). I also find NASCAR to be dreadfully dull, but understand why some might like it. I get frustrated with the lack of continuous pace in football, but it's one of the things I most like about baseball. It's almost maddening trying to figure out why I like some things about some sports and dislike things about others. I don't know what this has to do with anything, but I wrote it anyway.
