June 7, 201016 yr ^ Where did that come from? People are for separation and privacy as long as it doesn't mock their personal beliefs. If religions are no big deal then build that mosque by the site of the world trade center.............now go look at the thread on that one and see what people say.
June 8, 201016 yr Don't know really just ask the ACLU. Jesus in the schools, when one of my kids wants to write about a person and asks if he can write about Jesus the answer is no. He cannot lead a prayer in class time, and not one of you who has responded is in Jefferson County with this experince, so what do I have to draw from? How long has the ACLU been fightin Jesus? I thought is would be interesting to her from a Principle and I wrote it wrong and he took it personal. And I'm from the Bible belt where the state got in trouble with the Ten C's. I can take the hits and will defend my thoughts to the hilt, but if you don't go to school with my kid, watch how you respond. He doesn't go to your school. I have actually met with Lawyers who fight the ACLU thru the FCA about the thread topic. I have had meetings with these people several times and will meet again at camp in june. I'll get some info that I can pass along on here. Why not go to a parochial school if you want that much prayer in school?

They have a great FCA and he is a leader at JCTMS. He also wants to play football and beat Trinity/St. X/Manual. Praying wasn't the only issue I mentioned.

Religious discrimination would be allowing a Fellowship of Muslim Athletes to meet, but not a Fellowship of Christian Athletes. It would be allowing students to wear Stars of David and not crosses. It would be allowing the posting of a section of the Bhagavad Gita, but not the 10 Commandments. Discrimination would be allowing one religious group to do something that it doesn't allow another religious group to do. As far as I know, none of these examples (or comparable ones) exist in Jefferson Co.

Clyde, you have any kids in the public schools? The reasons you gave are not discrimination. The discrimination was having the 10 commandments hanging in a public school but no symbol from every other religion. Any student is free to pray on their own or in a group that isn't lead by the school or during class time. And they shouldn't be allowed to pray during class time, at least aloud.
