SK has plenty of speed Sage Powell, Tyler Pinkerton, Zihier Bailey, Zach Carroll, Jake Krummen, Ryan Winkler, Matt Reilly, Dlyan Harris and Chad Lawrence SK has plenty of skilled players.

 

I agree SK is in good hands with the number of gifted athletes coming through the program...This year will definatley be another good one in Independence for the neers there athletic, quick, smart and extremely well coached...With more balance this year they should be just as tough to stop then they were the last two years...I am by no means a one team homer but its pretty obvious SK is quickly building possibly a powerhouse program for years to come the top players from NKY youth that could go to there choice of Dixie or Scott or SK will want to play for a contender and SK is obviously the biggest contender of the Kenton Co public schools...Not to mention the top notch facilities and indoor practice facility and weight room also media exposure that SK is recieving with the radio deal...Players will take notice and want to play for the Neers...People need to quit hating because the respective schools whom the root for will no longer have their easiest Win of the year when they play SK

I agree with you that S.K. will be a team that will be at or neer the top of NKY 6A. I don't think there are a lot of haters. I think there people who are finding a couple (or is it just one) S.K. or (UK) fan that can't seem to make a post on any thread with out taking shots at Ryle. And some of there players by name. S.K. Will be good this year. So will Ryle.

Those are fair points, but like others have pointed out, I don't think there are a bunch of SK haters. In my case, I've seen many programs in N. Ky and throughout the State have a couple of good years and their supporters get all carried away in their predictions and assessments of their program. A couple of years of success does not make one a powerhouse program.

 

It's very possible with all the enthusiasm and support out in Independence that SK will continue to have great success and will develop into a powerhouse. Frankly, I think Dixie missed out on a golden opportunity to become "the" football program in Kenton County. Had great facilities built, had some extremely talented players, and CovCath was stumbling for a while. But for reasons I can't understand, that didn't happen. SK has taken advantage. Was SK's success primarily attributable to Simpson and some other very talented players in his class? At this point neither I nor any one else can know the answer to that question for sure. Sounds like SK has some very talented players returning (I watched the incoming Seniors play as Frosh and they looked very good). But I'm not ready quite yet to add SK to the ranks of T, X, Beechwood, Bell, Boyle, Highlands, etc. much like I wasn't ready to add Connor to those ranks when they had some great regular season success a few years back in spite of some rather glowing predictions and assessment of Connor fans. That I don't think makes me a hater of SK nor did it make me a hater of Connor. I just want to see a much longer period of high level success before I buy into some of the "we are going to dominate 6A in N. Ky" assessments made by a few SK posters on here.

I would think it would be at Station since they traveled to Independence last year.

Simon Kenton sucks. They had one good year Wow!! Now back to the loosing seasons year after year, and back to Ryle and Boonce County being at the top of the district just like almost every year in the past. Sk fans can talk about how good they are when they have good seasons year after year. Any High School football team can have a good season, only the great ones can do it consistently like Boone and Ryle.

So much is wrong with that last post its hard to take serious.

Sadly everything about SK now has become a farce to me because of a few posters. I think I will now just ignore the posts. Good luck to the Pioneers and all the 6A teams this season.
