Hobbies?

Featured Replies

Normally I am in class most of the time, and more than likely will work a little bit over the summer, but there's nothing I enjoy more in my free time than some hobbies. I love to play golf, and try to go at least a couple of times a week. I also get into collecting/listening to vinyl records. I used to write all the time to keep my mind fresh, and keeping up with sports is just a given. I ended up combining the two and created my own sports blog just as a hobby (http://www.makavellisports.blogspot.com) . Pretty soon I'll be playing an endless amount of slow-pitch softball, and hopefully catching endless amounts of fish. Other than that I have a couple other just random little things I enjoy, but for some I know hobbies are their passion. What are some of your all's favorite hobbies?

Great job on the blog. Was blown away by the professional look it has.

I guess my only hobby is writing. I like to do it to free my mind, usually just really abstract stuff.

BTW, nice job with the blog man. I'll try to keep checking it out. :thumb:

1. Watching sports of all sports; especially high-school football.

2. Playing golf.

3. Reading.

4. Buying stuff at auctions and selling on eBay.

Watching my son playing soccer/football all kinds/Bible Study with my wife and others.

I run a video production business on the side. It started as a hobby and became a job that I absolutely love doing.

Playing music would be my true 'hobby'. Don't get to play as much with my job and side business, .... but I still play/write from time to time.

Thanks you guys, really means a lot.

Cats, I feel ya on the writing man. In high school I used to write all the time. I would write real funny little short stories, make up my own song parodies, and all kinds of stuff. I ended up getting a distinguished on my high school writing portfolio. I graduated with almost two hundred people, and there were only like seven of us that could say that I think. I think our class had more Valedictorians that it did distinguished writing portfolio's. Once I got to college though and had to do all those papers, writing was the last thing on my mind. But now that I'm back into writing about the sports I love, it has really got my mind going in a positive direction.

Nice. I had a lot more time to write in HS, but my portfolio was just the opposite. I ended up getting a proficient because on the free writing thing I put a football playbook in there. :D I don't know if that had ever been done before, and I worked extremely hard on it. Though the scorers didn't like it, it was the thing I worked the hardest on that year.

Keep up the good work man, I think the blog was really well written.:thumb:

I have several hobbies.

I try to play as much softball as I can while the weather is nice. Me and some buddies got pretty serious about it when I was younger. Now I play in a few leagues and try to play in a few tournaments on the weekends. I just bought a new bat, Miken Freak limited edition. It was as hot as the original freak which I still carry in my bag.

I bowled in a league for years until I hurt my wrist. It's now turned into a hobby for the winter months.

I throw darts as often as possible.

I just started getting into golf. It's a lot of fun but one of the most frustrating sports I've ever tried.

I'm also a pretty solid ping pong player.

^ Freak Limited's are good bats. Still can't beat the ole trusty Freak 98' though.

Golf,smoker cooking,fine wine,college football & basketball,working out.

Geocaching - Saw this on the Travel Channel a couple years ago, and got hooked. Involves using a GPS to find hidden caches that others have placed. Would like to do it even more...but, haven't been able to.
