A statement from the Schaffstein family:

This news hits us all differently at different times. This statement has knocked me out emotionally.

I can't imagine going through what this family is experiencing right now, and I pray to God that I never do. I don't know this family, and have never met them, but it is obvious to me though after reading the statment from this young girl's father that he has the Holy Spirit living in his heart, and is comforted by our Heavenly Father knowing his daughter is now living in Heaven with Him, and that some day he will see his beautiful daughter again. May God continue to wrap his arms of love around them, and comfort this loving family.

Press conference at NDA today.

The very end of that video, very hard to imagine, like they said that yes Katherine Russo(I believe that's what I heard) was behind the wheel but she just happened to be behind the wheel when an accident took place, I just hope this young lady get's the support she needs, this can really tear a young lady apart. Just so so sad.

From the "taking baby steps" mentality, the Russo girl is progressing. I think the swelling of the brain has subsided.

Good news Clyde! Continued prayers for this young woman. Keep us posted.

Lets all keep all of these girls including the NDA girls in their prayers. Tomorrow is going to be a really , really tough day for 17 yr old kids to handle. Unfortunately, they will get smacked right in the face at the funeral tomorrow. So we need to give them a collective hug to comfort them.

Hats off to Covington Catholic, Conner, Holmes, Holy Cross, and Sacred Heart Academy for thinking enough of a fellow school that they sent flowers to the school.

Classy move.:thumb:

I spent over an hour waiting to get into the visitation. There were quite a few there to console such a great family.

Thanks Chuck for the link. Now instead of reading what people think or have heard, we can get the true info right from the source.

My families prayers are with all the involved families and the NDA Community.

John Erardi wrote an amazing article in todays Enquirer in tribute to Maria and her family. I couldn't find the article to link it, but if someone could that would be great. It is the Up in the Bit column "Sharing a game's joy and a parent's pain."

I don't know the family, but I am a mother and this speaks to my heart. Prayers to all the families involved.

Here is one, but I don't think it's the one you're talking about:
