April 9, 201016 yr Just hold on a minute, when did we start using logic? UKMF, you don't have to use logic, don't let him intimidate you like that. Well, he's already told me I have no knowledge about baseball since I don't agree that his precious little Reds can compete, so obviously he doesn't think I use any logic to begin with.
April 9, 201016 yr Author  Well, he's already told me I have no knowledge about baseball since I don't agree that his precious little Reds can compete, so obviously he doesn't think I use any logic to begin with. Zoom. How did you like that one buzzing the tower? :sssh: Show me where I stated you have no knowledge of baseball. I have no problem with you, or anyone thinking the Reds can't compete. I simply stated that the Reds are capable of winning the NL Central, and I stand by that statement. The Cards are obviously the favorite, but despite Dusty I still believe the Reds have enough talent to win the divison. I do appreciate you supporting "my precious little Reds" tonight though.
April 9, 201016 yr So Masset has a ERA of 2.95 in 155 1/3 innings since coming over from the AL, improving each year since coming over in 2007, and the hitters are suddenly going to easily figure him out this year? I'm not sure what logic you are using.Masset has a 2.74 ERA in 95 innings in the NL ...
April 9, 201016 yr west, I sure hope your Cubs stink it up today. perhaps I should include that they stink it up to a higher level than the Reds.

Nothing went over my head. I know what spindoc was saying, but it was funny so I laughed....Didn't think that would be hard to comprehend. :idunno: Parapharsing, you said, "your post shows your lack of knowledge"....Once again, you keep living in your fantasy world where this team has anywhere close to the talent needed to compete and I'll stick to the real world. It looks like we've found part of the 18% of the Reds fan base though.
April 9, 201016 yr Author Masset has a 2.74 ERA in 95 innings in the NL ... You are correct. I messed up by using ESPN's stats here. I added the 17.1 innings, plus the 62 innings, plus the 76 innings, but didn't pay close enough attention to realize that the one column was his 2008 stats combined between Cincinnati and Chicago. http://espn.go.com/mlb/players/stats?playerId=28505

April 9, 201016 yr I said you lack of knowledge about the Reds, not baseball, and your statement about the Reds having a below average bullpens backs up my statement. Says the guy who seriously thinks the Red can compete for the division this year.... You really need to take off the blinders and face the facts. This Reds team will be lucky to win 80 games. It has zero to do with the manager, and everything to do with the lack of talent they have.

This Reds team will be lucky to win 80 games. It has zero to do with the manager, and everything to do with the lack of talent they have. . Hey I admit I'm very optimstic about this year's team. They may very well finish below .500 like they have for the past 10 seasons, but they still have enough talent to compete for the divison. As I stated the Cards are the favorite, but the last few years have shown there is no dominant team in the Central.

This Reds team will be lucky to win 80 games. It has zero to do with the manager, and everything to do with the lack of talent they have. You are really going out there saying zero to do with the manager. He will lose them a few games this year.
April 9, 201016 yr You are really going out there saying zero to do with the manager. He will lose them a few games this year. Which will have absolutely zero baring on the way they finish this season. This team is way more than a few games away from competing for the division title.
April 9, 201016 yr Reds 2009 Bullpen was 4th in all of MLB with a 3.56 ERA. They were 6th in MLB in opponents batting average. 8th in MLB in OBP%. 6th in MLB in SLG%. 2nd in MLB in fewest blown saves. 2nd in MLB in Save %. 5th in MLB in WHIP Where's that guy that said the bullpen was average? Were you talking about me or UKMF? Because I was addressing your quote where you said the Reds pitching was above average last year. I took that to mean the entire staff and since their team ERA was 4.18 while the league ERA was 4.16 I stand by the quote that the pitching was very average last season.
