April 11, 201016 yr They said that if Bruce could have got a hit it would have "boosted" his confidence. They were trying to hit on any possible reason that Bruce would be put in that spot. None valid
April 11, 201016 yr The Cubs-Reds game wasn't televised in Paducah ... thanks, WGN. Looking at the box score, it appears that Bruce was pinch-hitting for Hanigan, who was pinch-hitting for the pitcher. What happened to Hanigan?

April 11, 201016 yr Author You guys were blasting Dusty the other day when he went textbook righty vs. lefty and lefty vs. righty. Now, he goes lefty vs. lefty and he gets blasted. Which is it? No, we blasted Dusty for playing Nix over Stubbs on Opening Day. It had nothing to do with righty vs. lefty, but nice try.

April 11, 201016 yr I'm happy with 3-3 right now. It could be worse. Then again, they seem to be continuing their tradition of making mediocre left-handers look like Sandy Koufax. April 12, 201016 yr No, we blasted Dusty for playing Nix over Stubbs on Opening Day. It had nothing to do with righty vs. lefty, but nice try. Others wonder though Stubbs should really be starting, but I guess Dusty is playing the lefty vs righty matchup. Some managers are obsessed witht he Lefty/Righty splits. Dusty is one of those.
