You figure Votto/Rolen are going to give us solid at bats. Phillips does his thing, Cabrera is a notch below him. If Bruce could hit in the .270's we would be really good offensively.
April 11, 201016 yr You guys were blasting Dusty the other day when he went textbook righty vs. lefty and lefty vs. righty. Now, he goes lefty vs. lefty and he gets blasted. Which is it? Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't he bring in Jay Bruce to hit a lefty? That's never a good decision. Bruce simply cannot hit against lefties. He's under .200 against LHP in his career. If I'm an opposing manager, I bring in a Lefty to face Jay Bruce as often as possible. I also avoid throwing Jonny Gomes a fastball. That will effectively take both of them out of the game.
